We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alejandra Vivanco. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Alejandra, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
As a mother, the most important thing is to be close and attentive to my children, which is why I decided to start my business from home. This has allowed my children to see me work, and also, I can see them and be by their side. I never imagined they noticed, or even appreciated, my work, until one night while I was working, my daughter came up to me, hugged me, and told me she was very proud of me. This gesture touched me, and I felt very proud knowing that our children value, appreciate, and silently learn from us.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alejandra Vivanco, I am the owner of Delirium Catering.
This amazing dream started during Covid pandemic. I started preparing desserts at home and offering them in personal portions to my friends and neighbors. So, week after week, the orders increased, and people started recommending me. I am very sure that personal recommendations are the best advertising that exists.
At some point I decided to sell custom cakes and offer catering for events, so I started studying and took courses to improve my techniques and be able to offer better products and have greater variety. I continue working on it every single day.
I believe that the loyalty of my clients is due to the fact that they know they can always count on me, and that I will offer them all the possible options that suit their needs.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My husband is my greatest supporter. He’s the one who pushed me to do what I love, and he continues to do so. He’s my quality control, my critic, my helper, my supporter, and above all, he’s the one who makes me look back and see how far I’ve come along this path.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I think the most important thing is that you should never give up, dreams are there to be achieved, but you have to work to achieve them.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d say I care a lot about others. I’m a very sensitive person; I’m always available for anyone who needs me, regardless of whether I know them or not.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Omg! .. Aside from my chocolate cake, I think what they’ll miss most is my relationship with them. I remember my nephew once stayed with me for a few days and watched me deliver my orders. One night, he told me he’d realized what I was selling was happiness, since my customers weren’t just getting a cake, but a moment of laughter and positive comments.
