We’re looking forward to introducing you to Aaliyah Nicole. Check out our conversation below.
Aaliyah, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Honestly, creating itself brings me so much joy that I don’t really view it as work. Whether it’s music or building Aeon Luxe, both feel like natural extensions of who I am. When I’m not making music, I’m usually pouring into the brand, and when I’m not focused on Aeon Luxe, I’m channeling energy back into my artistry—they really feed into each other. Outside of that, I’ve been finding a lot of joy in simple, grounding practices like journaling, reading, or spending time in nature. And more recently, working out has become a therapeutic outlet for me—it’s helped me tremendously in ways I can’t even fully put into words. All of these practices keep me balanced and inspired, so that when I return to creating, I’m coming from a place of wholeness rather than burnout.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey Angels, I’m Aaliyah Nicole—a genre-fluid artist, songwriter, and creative entrepreneur of Haitian, Jamaican, and Panamanian descent. My journey started in the church choir, where I first learned that music is more than just sound—it’s storytelling, healing, and connection. Those early experiences gave me a foundation that still guides me today as I create a universe for my supporters, who I call my Angels, to feel seen, inspired, and part of something bigger.
What makes me unique is that my art doesn’t live in just one box. While my sound often starts in Afro R&B, I love blending genres—Afrobeat, gospel, pop, soul, even alternative influences—because I want the music to reflect the complexity of real life. I’m not afraid to take risks sonically or emotionally, and I think that freedom and honesty is what truly sets me apart.
Beyond my own artistry, I’m passionate about helping other creatives. That’s why I started my production company, Pyramid Productions Entertainment. When I’m not in the studio working on my own music, I’m helping other artists shape their sound, tell their stories, and build their brands. I know firsthand how hard it is to navigate this industry, and I wanted to create a space that offers real support and collaboration.
I’m also in the process of rebranding my fashion, beauty, and wellness line, Aeon Luxe. For me, it’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling aligned, balanced, and powerful from the inside out. Aeon Luxe is an extension of my artistry, creating a lifestyle that embodies creativity, confidence, and self-care. It’s about giving people tools to shine in their own light, whether that’s through fashion, beauty, or wellness.
Right now, I’m most excited about my latest release, Time Flies, which just dropped and marks a new chapter in my career. At the core of everything—my music, Pyramid Productions, Aeon Luxe—is authenticity, resilience, and purpose. I want the world to know that my art and my brands are here to uplift, to connect, and to remind people that no matter what they’ve been through, God always makes a way.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment—or really, a series of moments—that shaped how I see the world were the traumatic experiences I went through as a child, including sexual abuse and pain involving people who should have been my protectors. Those experiences forced me inward. I became more introverted, more guarded, and more cautious, because when trust is broken at such a young age, it changes how you navigate relationships forever. For a long time, I walked around feeling like I had to constantly look over my shoulder, like someone was always out to get me.
Music became my outlet, my safe place, the one space where I could release the pain without judgment. Writing and singing gave me a voice when I didn’t feel like I had one in real life. Over time, I’ve learned that while those experiences left me with trust issues—and yes, I struggle to let people in romantically or even in friendships—they also made me resilient. The positive side is that I know I can survive anything, because I already have. And I believe God wouldn’t allow me to endure those battles if He didn’t know I could handle them and eventually transform them into something greater.
The downside is that my walls are high, sometimes too high, because I’m terrified of being hurt again. But as an adult, I’ve learned to find safe outlets and people I can confide in, and that’s given me solace in my healing journey. Those moments of trauma shaped my perspective, but they also built my strength. They taught me that while pain may shape you, it doesn’t have to define you. My art, my faith, and my Angels remind me of that every day.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I think I truly stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power when I realized that silence was eating me alive, but expression was setting me free. For so long, I carried my trauma quietly—burying the abuse, the family struggles, the trust issues—thinking that hiding it was the only way to survive. But when I started pouring those emotions into music, something shifted. Instead of my pain being a weight that held me down, it became fuel for creating, connecting, and even healing.
It wasn’t an overnight thing—healing rarely is—but little by little, I saw that my vulnerability was actually my strength. Every time I turned an experience into a song, or shared a piece of my story and someone said, “I feel that too,” I felt my power grow. That’s when I knew God didn’t let me go through all of that for nothing. He was giving me testimony, perspective, and resilience that I could use not only for myself but also to help others.
Now, I see my pain as part of my purpose. It’s still tender in places, but instead of hiding it, I let it shine through my art—and that’s where the transformation happens.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to—no matter how long it takes—is that everything I create should serve a bigger purpose: healing, connection, and empowerment. My music is at the heart of that—I use it to tell stories, process my own experiences, and give my Angels (my supporters) a space where they feel seen and understood. That’s something I’ll never stop working at, because I know God put me here to create art that uplifts and transforms.
But just as much as I’m committed to music, I’m equally committed to building Aeon Luxe, my fashion, beauty, and wellness brand, which I’m currently rebranding. For me, Aeon Luxe is about more than style or self-care—it’s about helping people feel aligned, confident, and powerful from the inside out. Just like music, it’s another outlet where I can pour into others and inspire them to embrace their own light.
Between my artistry, Pyramid Productions Entertainment, and Aeon Luxe, I know these projects are lifelong commitments. They’re not quick wins—they’re foundations for a legacy rooted in authenticity, resilience, and faith. No matter how long it takes, I’m dedicated to seeing them through, because they’re all connected to the bigger vision God has placed in my life.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes—I absolutely believe in giving my best, even when no one is watching or praising me. Life and art have taught me that the real work is often unseen, and that’s where character and resilience are built. My journey hasn’t always been easy—I’ve faced trauma, trust issues, and countless challenges—but I’ve learned that pouring my heart into my music, my production company, and my brand isn’t about instant recognition. It’s about integrity, growth, and honoring the gifts God has given me.
Even if no one notices right away, I know the effort matters. Every song, every project, every creative risk is a seed I plant—not for applause, but for impact, connection, and legacy. That mindset has allowed me to keep going, keep creating, and keep believing in the power of what I have to offer, even in the quietest moments.
