Rising Stars: Meet Erick Ison of Coral Gables

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erick Ison.

Erick, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started with a camera and curiosity.

Before Miami, before studios, before my brands, I was just documenting life. I’ve always been wired to see potential in people and ideas. I didn’t grow up with a roadmap to entrepreneurship, but I had an instinct to create and connect. That instinct became my compass.

When I moved to Miami from my small town in Indiana, I took risks. I built relationships. I said yes to opportunities that didn’t always make sense on paper but felt right in my gut. I had seasons where I made money fast and lost it just as quickly. Those experiences humbled me and forced me to build something more intentional.

Over time, I realized I wasn’t just a videographer. I was helping founders find their voice. I was helping brands shape their identity. I was building ecosystems, not just content.

That led to the creation of my brands and communities, including Paid 2 Exist and my sunglasses brand, Ison Couture. My philosophy is simple: people should be able to align their passion with profit. I believe your identity is your most valuable asset, and when you design your life with intention, you stop chasing opportunities and start attracting them.

Today, I focus on helping entrepreneurs build authority through media, storytelling, and strategic positioning. I’ve worked across luxury real estate, private aviation, fashion, and creative industries, but at the core of everything I do is one mission: connect vision to visibility.

I’m still building. Still evolving. But now it’s calculated. More Purpose-driven. And rooted in community.

I started with a camera.

Now I help people design their future with one.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I started with $-35 in my bank when I moved to Miami.

One of my biggest challenges has been learning who to trust and how much to trust. When you’re visionary and community-driven, you naturally see the best in people. I’ve always believed in collaboration and building together. But I learned the hard way that alignment and intention matter more than excitement.

There were partnerships that looked promising but lacked structure. Verbal agreements that weren’t backed by clarity. Situations where I gave more energy, time, and resources than I should have without clear boundaries in place. I trusted quickly because I move FAST. Not everyone moves with the same integrity or urgency.

Financially, I’ve experienced both momentum and loss. I’ve made strong income months and watched it disappear just as quickly because systems weren’t solid or agreements weren’t clearly defined. That humbles you. It forces you to mature.

But those challenges shaped me.

I learned that trust is not blind belief. It’s built through consistency, contracts, communication, and shared values. I learned to slow down before committing, to document everything, and to structure deals properly. I learned that being kind doesn’t mean being naïve.

Now I still believe in people. I still collaborate. But I lead with discernment. I build with intention. And I protect my vision the same way I protect my energy.

The road wasn’t smooth, but every bump refined the way I move today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a creative strategist, media architect and Sunglasses founder.

At my core, I help founders and brands turn their identity into authority. I specialize in visual storytelling, brand positioning, and building media ecosystems that elevate people into trusted voices within their industry.

What I’m known for isn’t just clean visuals or high-quality production. It’s perspective. I don’t approach content as posts or trends. I approach it as infrastructure. I look at a person’s story, their strengths, their ambition, and I design a media presence that aligns with who they truly are and where they’re going.

Over the years, I’ve worked across luxury real estate, private aviation, fashion, and creative entrepreneurship. I’ve built studios, launched product lines, produced interviews, and structured brand frameworks that help people show up consistently and confidently online.

What I’m most proud of is the movement behind my work. Through my community initiatives and creative ventures, I’ve built spaces where entrepreneurs and artists can collaborate, create, and elevate together, SAFELY. Watching someone step into their confidence because we clarified their identity and message is more rewarding than any metric.

What sets me apart is that I don’t separate creativity from strategy. I understand the art, but I also understand the systems behind growth. I can shoot, direct, and edit, but I can also structure positioning, partnerships, and long-term brand architecture.

I don’t just create content.

I help people design who they become in the public eye through fashion and media.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that money amplifies who you already are, it doesn’t complete you.

Earlier in my journey, I believed that once I hit a certain income level, everything would feel different. I thought making more money would automatically make me more confident, more secure, more fulfilled. And for a moment, when I had strong months financially, it felt exciting. But the feeling didn’t last.

What I realized is that chasing money without alignment is exhausting. When the work doesn’t resonate, no number feels big enough. When the vision isn’t yours, the wins feel hollow.

The real shift happened when I started designing my work around what I genuinely enjoy creating. Telling stories. Building brands. Connecting people. When I began getting paid for work that felt natural to me, everything changed. The fulfillment became sustainable.

Money is important. It gives you options and stability. But doing what you love, building something that reflects who you truly are, and being compensated for that energy is a different level of wealth.

That’s the lesson that reshaped my entire journey.
