Today we’d like to introduce you to Merewana Benamore.
Hi Merewana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Merwan is a young polyglot from Virginia who moved to Miami in pursuit of grandiose presence. His whole life has been spent learning languages – given that he hails from a country full of polyglots – tunisia. Identity became his practice and he took up reality TV, talk shows, even making appearances on the news and comedy shows. he ultimately found his niche traveling the world, interviewing people in different languages and surprising them with his knowledge of a resounding 30+ languages. he now runs his own channels across all social media platforms with a collective 6+ million followers – and is known worldwide via his codename – The Language Lord.
Back story – he retains two degrees from the University of Virginia – in linguistics and Public Policy and that educational background led for his love of travel, charismatic discourse, and linguistics. He feels he was never meant to be an internet celebrity, just a guy with a love of languages and culture and an understanding that language is the key to breaking barriers no matter where you are in life. He now runs his own channels, teaches a ‘learn any language’ course at merwan.org, and is being casted on numerous netflix/hulu series.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was never a smooth road. I’ve always been looked down upon, cast aside, never considered to be the best, the funniest, the biggest, the baddest, or the most relevant. But he was always the smartest person in the room. It was there that i discovered my power. I was able to converse with anybody in the world and make connection possible, seamlessly breaking the ice no matter what country, realm, or profession he was in – explicitly because he understood the language of those he met, as well as their culture. Being from tunisia, we are typically shrowded in darkness and cast aside from the annals of modern day affairs – despite being famous and legendary in the analogues of history. He finds true pride being from Tunisia and his largest support group hails from his ancestral land. They provided the support he needed to roll with the punches and look to succeed in the next opportunity when the current one failed.
Most notable struggles – Cast aside from selection from most movie/tv show castings/ reality shows.
Never grew up a member of the table when it came to business affairs.
People in america wouldn’t do business with someone who was proud of of another countries ancestry.
Learning language at first never came easy. Duolingo and Babbel and all those other language apps prooved useless. As did language tutors and classes. He failed to learn languages so many times that he invented his own method of being able to learn any language. That is the main proponent of his Language Lord Method course at merwan.org
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What do you do. i teach anybody how to learn a foreign language with a method tried by myself and proven true by hundreds who learned from me. I also travel the world and vlog my linguistic journeys, further proving that anyone can learn any language if they put their mind to it. I also conduct street interviews around the world to stress the importance of language learning at a time when people are not naturally inclined to focus on social interactions, preferring to technologize or utilize AI to get by with everyday affairs.
what do you specialize in: I specialize in building Confidence, Charisma, and bolstering my linguistic abilities in pursuit of self driven growth. I retain numerous clients and have hundreds whom i’ve worked with in the past to teach not only how to learn any language of their choice, but how to couple that with betterring themself as a human; synergizing it with confidence and charisma building. As a life coach and mentor, I’ve found resounding interest and success with anyone whom i’ve taken under my wing.
what are you known for: I am known for speaking 30+ languages. I am known for being one of the first street interviewers to film in brickell city center: so much so that is it known as the landmark of the internet realm of miami. I, and two others, literally made that street into the famous internet – in – real -life street that is it today. I am also known for doing numerous stand up shows, travel vlogs, and netflix series where i showcase my linguistic ability and sheer confidence. I am known for being one of the most recognizable faces on the virtual entertainment side of south florida – especially miami. I am known for being a proud TUNISIAN.
What are you most proud of? I am the most proud of being true to who i am. Despite the millions of followers, connections and opportunities that have come my way, i stay true to who i am at heart. A funny tunisian kid who has a love of languages. This has shaped my upbringing and continues to personify my personal image and thinking today. I am inherently committed, authentic, and genuine.
What sets you apart from others? My sheer work ethic. I undertook one of the most challenging missions in the world, being able to speak anyones language and break social barriers as I do it. I believe that many of the world problems can be resolved with communication. Often times as humans we cannot communicate with one another, and often times its due to language barriers. I believe that breaking those language barriers is the key to opening a world of possibilities and opportunities so that one may grow not only within himself, but with those around them, The possibilities are LITERALLY endless once you are abkle to do this. The confidence that ensues your ability to connect with anybody is obvious, and the charisma that you retain by being able to do such a thing is also very apparent. Couple those together, and you become a legendary human. my commitment to this is apparent every day, and this work ethic and understanding of the world is what sets me apart from everyone else. I am just that good at what I do, and it shows. Ask about me.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes. Find someone who excels in the realm that you want to be in. But theres a twist, never forget who you are. This will come into play later. Once you find a mentor who has skills you want, do everything you can in your power to learn the trade the way that they do. Once you match them on abilities, add your own personal twist/garnish to it. This is what will set you up for success, learning all that your competition (even if its your mentor!) knows, and then remembering who you are and what sets you apart. Adding this final garnish will make YOU the trailblazer and the one that you want to emulate. This is exactly what i did in my linguistic journey, and why I have the success that i do today. My personal garnish is what set me apart.
