Life & Work with Agustín Meder of Barcelona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Agustín Meder.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
– Agustín Meder is a producer, artist, teacher, and DJ with roots in Santa Rosa (La Pampa, Argentina).

– A graduate in music education and popular music, he continued his studies in Buenos Aires, Barcelona, and other cities, specializing in music production, mixing, mastering, and live system sound.

– His experience on stages with musical groups at public and private artistic events, and in music and audiovisual production studios makes him knowledgeable not only in a wide range of musical genres and styles but also in their sociocultural context.

– Photography and filmmaking complement his professional career. He trained and worked at Megafón Audiovisual as an audiovisual technician and editor, where he learned and put theory and practice to the test on public television programs and other large-scale projects. He also worked as a filmmaker for various nightclubs and events.

– Agustín was born in 1997 and is the founder of LHS Studios, a recording studio and record label focused on discovering and showcasing new talent. He has worked on and promoted projects in Rock, Pop, Disco, Indie, Metal, Folk, Funk, Reggae, Dancehall, Rap, Trap, Reggaeton, and most recently, Electronic music (House, Progressive, and Techno). He was a member of the renowned local band “Les Fankies” (disco/funk) and is a co-producer of the Agus Meder & Fran Sánchez Group project (neosoul/urban).

– Lately, he has focused on two areas: production and distribution of musical and audiovisual content for various urban artists and production of electronic music.

– He is currently based in Barcelona, developing his talent internationally, exchanging experiences with different cultural managers, collaborating in local venues by teaching music, and producing and performing his music in clubs and venues around the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think the biggest challenge I faced in the last two years was adapting to my new life in Barcelona; it was focusing on survival with almost no resources. I’m very grateful to everyone who helped me along the way. Now that I feel settled, I’m staying focused on my goals.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Lately, I’ve been specializing in electronic music, production, recording, and live sound mixing using MIDI devices.
I’m characterized by discipline, focus, action, and perseverance.
I’m proud of how I solve problems, how I manage my thoughts, and how I interpret situations for the betterment of myself and others. As I once said in an interview, what sets us apart is our essence. And for me, essence is a blend of things related to our thoughts, our actions, what we reveal and what we conceal, how we handle situations, and the way we do so.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
“Nothing ventured, nothing gained” as a synonym for “Win or lose.”

When we dare to travel, to start new projects, we have fears of failure, of wasting time or energy (limiting beliefs).

If we take a broader perspective, beyond what we’re used to projecting, when we take risks we break through barriers of knowledge and not only gain more experience and discover new avenues, but we also complement past experiences with new ones, develop new conclusions, and have even more tools at our disposal; it makes us more creative.

Personally, I consider myself a restless person, somewhat addicted to that feeling of impermanence or constant stimulation, someone who sometimes complains about it but is very clear that taking risks is synonymous with winning.
