Today we’d like to introduce you to Dardan Bela.
Hi Dardan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Kosovo — a country shaped by war, resilience, and survival.
My parents are war heroes. When everything around them was collapsing, they made the hardest decision of their lives: they fled so their children could have a future. I’m the youngest of six. I grew up watching sacrifice in real time.
In America, there was no silver spoon. My father worked nonstop. We lived paycheck to paycheck. I remember seeing exhaustion on his face — but never defeat. That did something to me.
As a kid, I didn’t just dream about being rich. I dreamed about power — the kind of power that changes circumstances. The kind that makes sure your family never struggles again. The kind that lets you build something bigger than yourself.
That mindset became the foundation of everything I’ve built.
1331 Recordz isn’t just a studio. It isn’t just a label. It’s infrastructure for creatives who refuse to stay average. It’s for the kid who grew up underestimated. The artist who never had industry connections. The visionary who just needed a real platform.
We help creatives turn passion into income. Ideas into execution. Talent into leverage.
Through community-driven platforms like NxtUpMiami and Beat Lounge, we’ve created real networking ecosystems — spaces where artists, producers, videographers, and entrepreneurs collide, collaborate, and level up. It’s not about clout. It’s about access.
Beyond music, I built Create 13 Group — a marketing and creative agency focused on scaling brands through strategy, media, and execution. Social media management. Paid ads. Videography. CGI. Graphic design. Print production. We don’t just make content — we engineer growth.
Now we’re launching Founders Society — a monthly mastermind and event experience for entrepreneurs who are serious about building. It’s for people who think long-term. Who understand that proximity changes everything.
I’m obsessed with growth. With leverage. With systems. With scaling.
I see myself building multiple companies at once — at the intersection of music, technology, and culture.
Everything I do comes from one core belief:
If you grew up with the short end of the stick, you don’t complain about it — you build a longer table.
And I’m just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not even close.
It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
We bootstrapped everything in the beginning. No safety net. No big investors. Just belief, long nights, and reinvesting every dollar back into the vision. There were months where it felt like we were building in the dark — testing, failing, adjusting, trying again.
Landing our first $20,000 investment was a turning point. That capital helped us level up and eventually secure our first brick-and-mortar location. But people see the location — they don’t see the pressure that comes with it. The overhead. The responsibility. The risk.
There were fallouts. Partnerships that didn’t last. Plans that didn’t work. Strategies that flopped. Times when growth felt painfully slow. Times when it felt like everyone else was winning faster.
And yes — there were moments I wanted to pack it up.
More than once.
But quitting was never really an option. I come from parents who survived war. I grew up watching sacrifice. When that’s your foundation, you don’t fold because business gets hard.
You adjust.
You learn.
You take the hit.
You keep moving.
It didn’t “click” overnight. It took consistency. It took refining the vision. It took building the right team. It took becoming the version of myself capable of leading something bigger.
The road wasn’t smooth — but it made me sharper.
And if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
We’ve been impressed with 1331 Recordz, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the core, we are a movement.
Anyone can open a studio. Anyone can start a label. What sets us apart is that we stand on impact. Everything we build is centered around growth — real growth — for the creatives we work with.
Through 1331 Recordz, we focus on helping artists and creatives turn what they love into full-time careers. A lot of talent doesn’t fail because it lacks skill — it fails because it lacks structure, knowledge, and guidance. That’s where we come in.
We don’t just record music. We teach strategy. We build systems. We create opportunities through events, networking platforms, and hands-on development.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the brand — it’s the lives we’ve helped shift. The confidence we’ve built. The doors we’ve opened.
For us, it’s simple:
It’s not about having a studio.
It’s about changing trajectories.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you’re just starting out, understand this: it’s going to take longer than you think — and cost more than you expect.
I wish I knew that success isn’t about motivation. It’s about endurance. There will be seasons where nothing looks like it’s working. That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re building.
I also wish I understood the importance of structure earlier. Talent is not enough. Passion is not enough. You need systems, consistency, and the humility to learn business — even if you’re a creative.
And most importantly: don’t quit in an emotional moment.
There were times I wanted to stop. If I had made decisions based on how I felt in those low moments, none of this would exist.
Start small. Stay consistent. Learn fast. Protect your reputation. Build relationships.
And remember — the goal isn’t to look successful.
The goal is to become undeniable.
