Meet Sarah Zohar of Sarah Z Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Zohar.

Sarah Zohar

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, my father was a builder and worked in the industry for over 60 years, I was constantly around remodeling and building projects from a young age & since then developed a keen eye for all things design.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road, like everything, getting to where I am today has taken hard work, sacrifice, & resilience. Starting my business right out of Arts School, I didn’t have much experience, so I would do small projects for family & friends.

I knew I had the talent, but I hadn’t made a name for myself. Today, I can confidently say that thanks to the first few people who believed in me and my vision & referred me to other clients, I am where I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sarah Z Designs is a start-to-finish firm that handles everything from building permits and concierge services until the final showcasing day. Specializing in biophilic designs — an approach to designing spaces that focus on human connection with nature.

Our work is known for its bold use of color and texture, with touches of biophilic elements that reduce stress and promote an overall sense of well-being through natural lighting and materials such as wood, natural stone, and metals. We’ve won countless awards in the industry and strive for perfection with each one of our projects, we are not a cookie-cutter firm, we design around our client’s lifestyles, and hobbies, and are very big on functionality.

Sarah Z Designs is my hard work & passion in a business form, I leave a bit of me in every project, and I’m so proud to be where we are today.

What are your plans for the future?
I am so thrilled at where I currently am with my business, but I’m even more thrilled as to where we are going, every day that passes we strive to be better than the day before, we expanded to a much larger location, we have national & international projects that we are currently working on.

We have the goal of possibly opening another design firm in another state; As for my personal life, I always strive to be the best version of myself, for myself and my family, and that reflects in the work we put in. We are looking to travel more and continue to grow together.
