Meet Natalia Caicedo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Caicedo. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Natalia Caicedo was born in Pereira, Colombia on March 26th, 1984. Although her parents are both Industrial Engineers and she was not exposed to an artistic environment, her curiosity always drew her to the creative world at a very young age.

Because of Natalia’s curiosity about theater her mother enrolled her at a very young age in Drama Classes with Mrs. Dora Cadavid, which is a very well-known Soap Opera Actress in Colombia. Additionally, Natalia was simultaneously attending classes in Ballet, Modern Dance, and Modeling; undergoing specific training in music, which entailed vocal techniques, flute, and piano playing.

Although most of her time was dedicated to her field, Natalia managed to incorporate sporting activities, which included: Cheerleading, Tennis, Basketball, Swimming, and Volleyball. Growing up her most influential figure was David LaChapelle one of the most controversial photographers of our time whose style is pop surrealism.

After graduating from high school in Colombia Natalia relocated to New York City in 2003 to pursue her dreams in the theater. Although New York City seemed like the right move at the time for reasons well unknown Natalia picked up her things and headed to Sunny Florida in 2005.

She immediately started to work with Arias Group Productions, who worked directly with Telemundo, and discovered her passion with this enriched experience. She enrolled in AI/MIU in 2011 for her BFA in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production which she graduated in 2015.

In 2017, she got her Real Estate License and it’s been incorporating both worlds in her career. At the pace Natalia is going we expect to see nothing less than greatness from this young talented individual.

Her parent’s divorce marked a big moment in her life. In 1995, her brother was born and when he was 5 months old, her parents sent Natalia to Mexico for summer vacation.

When she came back, her parents were separated and her mom, brother, and now her, moved to another city with her mom’s family.

Moving to Pereira, helped Natalia develop her creative skills with her uncle who was part of the Opera de Colombia.

In my Philanthropy experience with Disney on Wheels, we helped 16 children medically fragile to go to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We had 9 ambulances and 80 volunteers. It was an amazing experience!

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking?
When my parents divorced, that marked a big moment in my life.

That was in 1995, my brother was born in January that year and he was only 5 months old when my parents sent me to Mexico for summer vacation. When I came back, my parents were separated and my mom, brother, and I moved to another city with my mom’s family.

Moving to Pereira, helped me develop my creative skills with my uncle who was part of the Opera de Colombia, back then. He helped me to get a commercial for a radio station and that was a great experience!

After that, I enrolled in piano lessons, flute, voice technics, modeling, glamor and etiquette, dance, cheerleading, volleyball, and basketball.

When I finally moved to the US and specifically to Miami, in 2005, I decided to pursue my career as a producer at Telemundo. That was my first grasp of this amazing world.

It was a huge risk to get rejected, but I felt like I was prepared and capable of making things happen, in which I became a problem solver as a producer and I was responsible for the exotic cars and all the extras for the soap operas and TV shows.

After a few years, I decided to stop working and obtain my BFA degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production at MIU from the Art Institute. Those 4 years have been the hardest time in my life, but I’m very proud of being able to finish with my diploma!
