Today we’d like to introduce you to Alfonso Corona.
Hi Alfonso, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After working for more than a decade as a Professional Photographer –atomreflections.com and Professor – ibero.mx, in Mexico City, I immigrated to Miami, FL in 2003 to open a Graphic Design Agency that served the Hispanic Markets and continue my photography journey.
That agency evolved to become Kite Mix Marketing (Kitemm.com), ever since Kite has done hundreds of Marketing Consulting projects for diverse brands and industries, shown on our website.
During these years, I also did an 8-year Artist Residency on Lincoln Rd in Miami Beach, along with my wife and another friend, we published a magazine –distriktmag.com, and distributed in Miami, NY and LA through our partner Aeromexico. We organized diverse art-related projects with the Miami Police Department and the community such as ‘Kids, Cops & Cameras’, we used photography as a communication medium for inner-city kids.
Eight years ago, I moved from Miami to Carmel, CA, I worked there as a fine-art photographer, consultant and also managing an Art Gallery in a luxury resort in Big Sur, CA. Inspired by those redwoods, the landscape and the powerful connection with nature, I created ArtEssential.org
For five years in California, I facilitated hundreds of Art Essential workshops in luxury resorts and corporate offices around California… also started the Academic Program with underserved communities around the California Central Valley, such as Salinas, Gonzales, Soledad, Watsonville, and others. During these time, I was being invited a lot to Health Conferences to teach my paisanos some useful and fun mindfulness, breathing & meditation techniques to better manage stress, anxiety, fear, etc. We received and distributed many government grants 🙂
After surviving many consecutive years of fires, mudslides, and other natural catastrophes that happened in the Central Coast, we moved and lived for three years in Phoenix, Arizona. While living there, I produced a new series of photographs that are available on my website, also worked with the Mexican Consulate offering free business coaching and development to my fellow immigrants, wellness tools.
During the pandemic, we took our Academic Program online, employing teachers in Mexico City and connecting with families on this side of the border. artessential.org/multidimensional-education
Last October, we moved back to Miami where I’m on the process of activating our microeconomics program for the local community, creating a new series of limited-edition photographs, producing an event in October called MiamiPoloWeekend.com facilitating VIP wellness experiences onboard luxury yachts WellnessLifeatSea.com, producing Signature Music Soundtracks for Hotels in Miami, and doing marketing consulting for a Real Estate Firm in Brickell urban-usa.com 😀

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Moving across the country and living in different states and cities has been super enriching, connecting with some of the communities that make this beautiful country and bless it every day with so much potential has been an honor and an adventure!
Certainly, the biggest challenges have come when we lived on the edge of the continent in Carmel, CA. Even if it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, we had to deal with months of fires, the poison-ivy smoke that produces, stress, learning about friends and neighbors losing homes to the fires, also heavy rains that brought floods took down bridges, isolated and displaced communities, and cost us our jobs, and many months of uncertainty, then a year after we were able to move from Cali, the pandemic hit XD at least we were in Arizona in a beautiful house and more lenient weather to say the least…then last October, we were lucky and able to come back home, to Miami, FL, we drove for four days and with the help of our friend Joe, we made it! I feel blessed and grateful everyday for my wife of 19 years, our dogs Lula & Taco, and the beautiful city that Miami is…
The faster I was able to learn how to go with the flow and follow the winds of change, the less I have struggled since. My philosophy is that everything that happens to us is there for a nurturing reason, it is our only job to find what to learn from it…in other words, it is not what happens to you but what you do with what happens 🙂
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a photographer and visual artists with 25 years of creating photography series, teaching art and facilitating memorable experiences for people.
