Meet Elizabeth (Betti) Brillembourg of BettiBdesign in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Brillembourg.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Venezuela from Italian parents and at a very young age, I returned to Italy. My father was a painter, so we share that passion and he encouraged me to chase what I dreamed. Eventually, I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, and start working with a well-known artist as an apprentice, and also as a freelance with other studios from fabric thru furniture design.

We as a family maintained very strong relations with our Venezuelan friends, so during a trip to Venezuela I met this incredible guy and fell in love at first sight, we got married, and then had three wonderful children. After they grew up and having a successful career as an artist, I was eager to reflect and merge my love for art and nature, Venezuela is such a beautiful country, its flora and fauna is so luscious that you can’t ignore it, it is part of your everyday life, it’s surrounding you, so I made my self eco of what I learn living in Italy so many years, that you don’t need a great piece of art in your home to enjoy the beauty, it can be found in anything.

And start putting that idea in a new adventure, a small company of home essentials, placemats, coasters, trays, and never stop since then. I consider the dining room and kitchen to be the main meeting place at any home.

This is where friends and family come together to share and celebrate. My focus is on transforming those spaces with simple yet elegant pieces such as placemats, trivet, and tray, and enhance your table with beauty and little effort.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My products are so different and full of beauty and at the same time so elegant, that they have ad a great success from the beginning.

Moving here, after having been established for many years in Venezuela was hard because I had to start from the beginning looking for printing and suppliers all over again,

but with a little patience and time, I am doing fine right now.

Please tell us about BettiBdesign.
BettiBdesign is a table and home accessory company we are mostly known for our wood placemats and coasters but over time we add trays and Lazy-Susan.

The last addition ready for the holidays are the cheese boards and the cake plates. We are working every day, looking for new material and ideas, that we can put into production. Our goal is to bring to the customers something useful and beautiful at the same time, to add effortless beauty to every home.

What set us apart from others is the elegance of our design and the details in the finishing, for example, the wood is laser cut so the edges are smooth and with a beautiful burn color.

Also, the surface is laminated so the cleaning is very easy, just a damp cloth all over, and they are ready for the next occasion.

Our pride is in the love that we put in all we do, we are a very small family company, one of my daughters, work with me and a friend, and we are very happy to have this opportunity to serve the American public

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As I was growing up, my family use to go to spend the summer on this beautiful island near Napoli, Ischia, those months spent there are my most cherished memories, the sun, the see, friends from other cities that you coming back to reunite with, every year, but most of all the freedom that we enjoyed there so different than the kind of life that my sister and my self had in a big city like Rome, was the prize that I wait for all year.
