Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Russell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been obsessed with media production since I was 12 years old and spent 26+ years honing my skills with MTV, NBC, the Miami Marlins, and hundreds of other brands. During this time, I’ve built multiple communities and media channels covering anime/manga, education, music, and currently manage one of the largest vegan communities in the country called SoFlo Vegans. I currently am the Creative Director at the marketing agency Lesaruss Media.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been bumpy, requiring major sacrifices along the way. After becoming a full-time entrepreneur in 2017 with my parent company Lesaruss Media, I faced financial hardships and kept moving forward until I was able to rebound, grow, and become a better business operator. Each lesson taught me a valuable lesson and I’m still learning something new every day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I really enjoy being a host at events or being on-camera. I made my national television debut on ABC’s The Hustler in July 2021. This was an exciting experience and I hope to continue to show the world why I’m my own biggest fan.
Outside of that, I’ve hosted over 100 events in my career and hope to do even more in the years to come. My next adventure is as an actor. So if you have an opportunity, feel free to reach out.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Podcasts are an amazing way to meet busy executives that might make for an amazing mentor. Even if you have a small following, some people are just looking to build up their podcasting appearances so they can secure larger outlets, so you may luck out.
Also, know what you are looking for in a mentor and don’t be afraid to ask.
