Today we’d like to introduce you to Lieuci.
Lieuci, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been drawing since I was able to pick up a crayon.
Art has always been in my blood. As I grew up, it progressed into a deeper meaning of the craft and expanded my palette. Art has become a personal rabbit hole for me and the deeper I go, the more layers I peel back, the more meaning I find behind my artistry.
At this point, my work exudes a grinding aura eclipsing all my studies, research, and former experience. Now, I continue to push myself creatively, exploring new techniques and mediums and incorporating my unique perspective into my work, working towards my debut solo exhibition.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t believe in smooth roads because it is the hardships and tough times that mold you into the unstoppable force you are destined to be.
It builds character and thick skin and that is exactly what is needed in this cruel world. I come from Italian immigrants who left their lives in Sicily to pursue new beginnings in the United States so I constantly think of all the hardships they had to go through to get me to where I am at today.
The struggle can motivate you in ways you’ve never imagined if you let it. One of the biggest struggles I faced early on was trying to find my place in the art world. But over time, I learned to embrace my unique perspective and style and use it to create work that was truly my own.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for more of my expressive figurative works but as my journey into different styles becomes more prominent, I find myself diving deeper into abstraction altering the mind’s view and perception of one’s reality. Oil has become my main medium for all work and will eventually extend beyond that.
Emerging as an artist to be reckoned with, I have also dived into the early digital side of art producing a montage of portraits tokenized as assets. You can view all my work and shop at lieuci.com. When thinking about what sets me apart from others, is the fact that no one is me, and I use it to my advantage.
Being unique in style but identifiable to the masses can make Lieuci a household name.
What does success mean to you?
Aside from the financial gains that everyone associates success with, success to me in this industry is about creating art that resonates with people on a deep level, inspires them, and makes them feel something.
It’s about being able to connect with others through my work, make a positive impact, and further humanity. At the end of the day, success is about feeling proud of the work I’ve done, the person I’ve become, and the people I’ve helped. I think it is important to leave a legacy behind so that we can continue to live on through what we create and accomplish, living a life true to ourselves.
