Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Dorely.
Hi Jonathan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my brand Lordey in 2015. I was always into fashion growing up as a kid, so I always knew I was going to do something with fashion. I started with just making a couple of t-shirts just for me and my group of friends to see how people would receive it. Everyone loved them and that’s when I knew I had something in the works. My goal was to make my brand a lifestyle brand and not just a t-shirt brand. Two years into starting Lordey, I wanted to take it to the next level. I always loved designing my own clothes so I knew that’s where I was going towards next. I started to create my own custom Ties and Suits with my team and with that we were able to grow the brand even more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There was a lot of trial and era with just learning what people liked, creating my own website doing my own marketing, taking my own pictures and just figuring out what was trending at the moment. There is a lot that comes with starting your own brand, that people dot tell you and most of the time, people don’t like to help you so you have to go through everything own your own.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am Designer, I create custom clothes and a Lifestyle for all Kings and Queens. When people see the crown or a floral pattern, they usually know it’s a Lordey product. Those two things are mainly my signature looks. I’m really proud of where I am now 6 years later and people know my brand from all across the world. Its great feeling when people want to wear a custom suit made by you for their Wedding Day!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was the youngest in the family of 4 kids, so I was really a sponge from everyone around me. People would say I was always outspoken and love to make everyone around me laugh and smile. Basketball was my first love, I really thought I would be in the NBA or be running Track and Field but growing up Seventh Day Adventist, My parents were not having me play on Saturdays. So I had to find another passion which became fashion.
