Meet Victoria Kaczynska of Vikay Beauty in Coconut Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Kaczynska.

Victoria, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Ukraine. I always had a passion for foreign cultures and languages. So I started seriously learning English at the age of 16 in Ukraine and was dreaming about seeing other countries and meeting interesting people. Besides the languages, I always was into the world of fashion and beauty. When I turned 21, I became a photo model. It gave me the possibility to work in different countries and explore the world. I got inspired by seeing so many wonders that I wanted to create my own business to help women to be more beautiful.

I spent some time in France to learn French language and culture and became exposed to the world of skincare. I also lived in Krakow, Poland for two years, where I studied Polish and was learning about lingerie and bikini design. I even took a class in London from a corset and lingerie designer. After that, I became even more fascinated with pattern making and design of lingerie and bikinis.

My degree is in Finance; for this, I am grateful because it helps me to run my business. A few years ago, I decided to pursue another career to become a licensed esthetician. I started to do it in Kiev, Ukraine and then continued in Miami, Florida. I have worked for about a year as an esthetician in Miami. After a while, I wanted to combine my two passions, skincare and fashion, so I decided to create Vikay Beauty LLC. At present, I am developing my organic skincare brand and my designs of bikinis. My projects are currently on hold due to the Coronavirus. Hopefully we will overcome it and you will be able to enjoy my creations soon!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a lot of work and ups and downs, but I always tried to believe in myself and see the bright future. Immigration to the USA wasn’t easy for me. It took me several years to get a Green Card. I was reading a lot of books in English to be able to improve my English skills to study here and get my esthetician license.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Vikay Beauty story. Tell us more about the business.
I provide service of skincare and am currently developing organic products for men and women. I combine two different approaches to the skin from Europe and the USA. They are very different, but I try to take the best practices from both continents. Besides skincare, I am creating my bikini brand, Vikay swimwear.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I was lucky to have a look which enabled me to become a photo model, which gave me my exposure to travel, foreign cultures, fashion, music and art.
