Meet Tristine Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tristine Davis.

Tristine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a longtime Florida resident. Through the course of my career, I’ve spent years traveling the world teaching photography classes, hosting retreats and sharing my love of all things aquatic. As a certified SCUBA diver, certified freediver and award-winning Professional Photographer, my enthusiasm and love for the water is evident in the images and experiences I’m able to immortalize through my photography. I have over 14 years of experience, more than five of which I have spent specializing in underwater photography, which I feel unites to render mesmerizing images! My overwhelming passion for the underwater world is seamlessly combined with my eye for all forms of beauty to shoot stunning photos, whether it be above or below the surface, as well as sea life or even an enchanting sunset painted in the heavens. I strive to become a master of boudoir and have incorporated this talent into my underwater work, perfectly capturing the flowing female form to truly showcase the beauty and elegance lying therein. My heart and soul are expressed through the lens of my camera.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Since already having a photography background it was easy to transition into photographing underwater from a camera setting standpoint. Underwater photography is defiantly different from photographing on land. There are things you need to know to be safe and keep your clients safe as well. Lighting is sometimes a challenge, which you can’t always change or fix. But all in all, I love the challenge and enjoy being beneath the surface and creating art.

Please tell us about your work.
I am a photographer, specializing in underwater, boudoir, newborns, and portraits. I am most proud of my underwater work, I love being in the water and feel in shows in my images. I have been published, won awards for my underwater work and have been featured in galleries. I believe what sets me apart is not a lot of photographers shoot underwater and those that do typically photograph wildlife, I capture women in the beautiful freeing environment, flowing beneath the surface on a single breath.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking forward to eventually photographing only underwater, selling my art in galleries around the world.
