Meet Trailblazer Hara Kritharidou

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hara Kritharidou.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started with my two biggest loves, fashion and the power of the Internet. I have been watching fashion news since I remember myself and I always loved the idea of influencing people through my creations. Blogging along with social media made this possible. Since 2014, my “online life” is a main daily activity along with my full-time job. And you know what? I actually love not having free time to watch TV or answering emails while at the gym! I feel continuous improvement every day and that’s what makes it all worth it. I also met many people along my influencer journey and this lifestyle itself affects me to gain knowledge that helps me become a better person every day. I am now to the next chapter of my life where I am creating my own business (of course, fashion-related!), which caused some inactivity on my blog and social media the last 2 months, but promise it’s 100% worth it!!!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not a smooth road at all. At the end of the day, it will definitely make you wonder if it’s even worth it. They say anything you are about to start, you have to absolutely love it. It will take up all your free time, it won’t be fun most of the time and many days you will want to quit. But if you LOVE it, whatever it is, you will just keep going. It will take a lot of energy, especially if you want to maintain a full-time job like me, but it will only make you happier every day. My advice to young women: Don’t quit everything to focus on blogging or social media. Get your degree, keep working, start what you LOVE, see how it goes and decides along the way!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about www.fashion-and-thecity.com – what should we know?
I am the fashion and lifestyle influencer of Fashion and The City. I am known as a Greek girl who lives in Florida, loves fashion, sun and healthy lifestyle. I am most proud of where I am today, successful in my personal career as a manager within the retail industry, the growth of my blog and now the opportunity I have to start my own business related to fashion apparel. What sets me apart from others is my European (unique in the USA), vibe and sense of style.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel like there are many opportunities for women to improve their lives, influence and empower one another. Fashion and beauty, two big sectors of the media are dominated by women.
