Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara “Mizhani” Walton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
You ever been on vacation somewhere and said I’m going to stay here, I never wanna leave? That’s my story. I came to Miami on vacation and never looked back. I was not being kind to my future self in Detroit, hanging with the wrong kind of people. Acting like I wasn’t raised right.
I got to Miami and it was so beautiful that I decided I need to be here! At this time, I was an exotic dancer living day by day and was told that I can move down there and be anyone I wanted to be. Well, I wish I would have given it a little more thought, I might be a doctor or something lol but on the real, I think that I was overwhelmed by the beauty Miami had to offer, I never realized there was more to starting over than moving. I’m from Detroit, MI. I like to think that my hustle is in my DNA. My parents own a restaurant and when I was younger, I used to work for them during different festivals and at the restaurant before I found my S E X and decided I wanted to be a rebel without a cause. Lets fast forward a few years to 2014, I was given the title THE QUEEN OF KING OF DIAMONDS, KOD at the time was the largest club in the country so to be the QUEEN at only 23 years old was INTENSE to say the lease. Night after night I would perform three songs, making thousands of dollars and meeting thousands of people, still it wasn’t enough, I needed to reach my fans, I needed to make connections that would leave me on the hearts and minds of the people that visited the club FOREVER.
I started teaching pole fitness after a few of my other business ventures proved to not be the most practical investments. POLE FITNESS WAS PERFECT, I was known for my performance and stage presence, and pole fitness was the perfect way to make those connections I needed to make. I started traveling and teaching the classes before I would perform that night and although I didn’t really have a business structure, I had plans on being huge in the pole fitness industry so I continued to dance and make connections. I took a break for about a year to work on my structure and mental health and here I am! Reaching women through the art of pole dance!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
NOTHING about my business life or life in business was easy! I oftentimes get in my own way, my attitude had to change. being in the adult entertainment industry gave me a false reality. I changed the name once and added a partner but that didn’t work out, I felt like I was giving up a large part of my own self built brand to have 50/50 partner, in reality the young lady was really an awesome person and had good intentions but I believe that it didn’t work out so I could see myself and my faults and my flaws, there still a lot of love for everyone who’s ever been involved, I just needed MIZHANI POLE FITNESS to be about MIZHANI!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mizhani Pole Fitness – what should we know?
Mizhani Pole Fitness is the one business baby I refuse to give up on. Part of the reason why Is because Mizhani pole fitness is one of the last things I have to hold on as Mizhani, through my metamorphosis I returned to my true self as an author poet known by my given name TIARA if it were for Mizhani Pole Fitness, I would do completely away with Mizhani. Writing and reciting poetry all day lol, I also would have probably gained a ton of weight because I would be eating ice cream and brownies thinking about all the things I put myself through while I was young and influenced by others. MIZHANI POLE FITNESS is necessary, its how I serve other women who may not be in tune with both of their sides, the woman who has the alter ego but doesn’t know what to do with it! THE DIFFERENCE IS THE EXPERIENCE!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I joke all the time about how I skipped out on superstardom! But truth is I believe that because I stay so “down to earth” the superstar that I would have been still lives in my actions, I love when I’m traveling to different studios and the students who sign up for the class go on a memory rollercoaster telling me how much they admire my growth, saying they have been following me for years! I really love the throwback pictures because I can actually see my growth!
