Meet Terrence Michael Scott of SUMMERBODY in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence Michael Scott.

Terrence, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am half the man I use to be… I lost 170 pounds. Being half the man you used to be is not as easy as one would think. I lost a whole human 170 pounds naturally and I lost my Mom too. My ambition behind my mission is my Mom. The reality is we aren’t perfect & sadly we die. Our purpose in life is to live it being the best version of ourselves that inspires others who gain notice to be better & beyond.

It started with her on her death bed. As she laid there reminiscing about her life, what she liked, what made her a stronger woman and what made her who she was she reminded me to “do something with yourself before you die” She didn’t tell me to do it for her she wanted me to do it for me. She passed away from the sneaky creep called cancer.

It is something that I still think about to this day and she has been gone for four (4) years now. I don’t know exactly what it is I’ll “do with myself” however I figure little things do add up. So I’m starting with putting a little more good into the world that we all want to see, starting with a healthier me. “Operation 6 pack” is the name of my surgery and my friends and I are “helping a woman get her breast back.”

With the weight loss, I’m also losing some of the things I hated most, the things I was most insecure about growing up. My “titties” my moobs, my boos, my breast. Yes, I’m finally going to have a real man’s chest. I’m going under the knife to have an operation. Through my journey, My team and I are helping give a woman her breast back as a body-positive inspirational statement in remembrance of my Mom to be better & beyond. A woman who has violently had her breast ripped away from her leaving her feeling deformed, unwanted by herself and others and a host of other feelings we should not have about our body image. As a part of the women’s healthcare reform.

I started a GoFundme to help fund my dream in the process I have helped hundreds of people lose weight and or tone up. I’ve helped a ton of folks “have a dream & believe in it” but most importantly I’ve reminded thousands of people to “don’t give up” for what it is they want to achieve and do in this big world. It will never be easy however keep in mind that “tough challenges they don’t break us they make us. They don’t make us worse, they make us better!”

No one likes a place of uncertainty. Together with my team which means “Together WE achieve more” have helped and pushed each other into new realms of prosperity of support and motivation for self-love that never stops. We never stop getting better for what you keep working at you do get better at it. As 2020 rolls in the vision are clear as we keep climbing, keep going keep pushing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, the road has not been smooth. When losing weight it hard to push away the cookies and the cake. The friends that want to cook a 5-course meal when you are “dieting” or who want to invite you out to eat and force the exquisite chef’s special dessert down your throat. From losing friends and family from propositioning them to help me help others. I’ve learned people are funny about their money and that these social media posts we read every day online are just that a post and for many, there is nothing behind those nice words.

After all, even though I have a team, it’s still MY DREAMS. Moreover, it’s the voice in your head that says “You can always start again tomorrow” Combine that with the big vision of “helping a woman get her breast back” you will find that many of your friends and family will leave you to your own destruction (even though that will not happen). “It’s just too much going on” as one person told me. “You are crazy” I’m told often.

If I listened to them I would not have made the accomplishments I’ve made today from being on a syndicated radio show to share my story and provide a bit of inspiration, being an award for my actions in the community during the hurricane Irma “water for a good cause” and various other opportunities that have come my way. Looking back and moving forward knowing how hard it was and how hard it will still be. I keep in mind it’s just the way it’s supposed to be.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business started with the words “NO”. The way I see it “there are never dead ends, there are always options. I set a goal of twenty thousand dollars to raise that would afford me the chance to not only get my surgery but to also “help a woman get her breast back” I was unsuccessful in my fundraiser. I was riddled with the word “no” or “on my next paycheck” which never came. I had to figure out a new way.

Since I already worked out I had numerous people tell me they want to lose weight. Asked me to train them and others asked c”well how did you lose the weight?” These questions started to haunt me daily from strangers and acquaintances alike. So I did something about it.

I started group workouts and charges parters a small fee of $5-$10 per workout session, I would come to you or hold the fitness session in a public place when there were big crowds. I developed my own sayings that I used to motivate me when I had my times of need – SUMMERBODY! Little did I know these sayings and my actions to get around the “NO” that was holding me back motivated others too. I decided to take it a step further and wear my dreams on my chest and my heart on my sleeves.

To continue in helping me and the team get to the grand goal of raising 20 thousand dollars and “help a woman get her breast back” I started selling shirts. The shirts are premium, super-soft 100% cotton & won’t shrink when you wash them and other motivational appeals that are sure to make you feel good both on the inside and the out. 100% of the proceeds will go toward the complete mission “Operation 6 pack, help a woman get her breast back”

I am known for and most proud of my Philanthropic adventures and a positive, bubbly, go get it, accomplish anything spirit. Compliments I’ve gotten & stand behind is the feelings others have had when wearing our motivational brand and the compliments others have given them when wearing such an appropriate slogan on your chest in the state of FL. somebody’s is made in the winter! Always be ready, don’t give up.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
As Bob Marley once said, “It’s rocky a road, but it’s the only way you’ve got to go”… When you want to make it. In life, we have a bunch of people and they all stick together and “talk a good game”. Fooling many in their crew. For me what defines success is getting your feet wet.

Being a doer has always set me apart from my counterparts. “Walk it like I talk it” is what success is. Coming up to the ledge and jumping its success. Notice I didn’t say “not being afraid” because that I am. As I keep crossing success, landing in places I’ve never been I’m greeting with a familiar feeling- F.E.A.R. False Evidence Appearing Real. Scared but that’s what keeps me going. It’s a fun adventure I like to F.E.A.R – Face Everything & Rise! You may know where you are going never know where you will end up.
