Meet Teresa Cesario

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Cesario.

Teresa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I recently discovered the word multipotentialite and suddenly, everything came into place. A Multipotentialite is someone with many interests and creative pursuits. It stems from the word multipotentiality – a psychological and educational term used to describe people who display aptitudes across multiple disciplines. Hailing from Chicago Illinois, I like to say I’m corn-fed with Midwest cheeks made for smiling. I’ve always been creative. Since I was a little girl, I was a performer from touring with Kenny Rogers to being an original American Girl Doll, all the way to co-hosting a Morning talk show on FOX. One thing was certain. I love people and asking questions.

When moving to Miami eight years ago, I quickly learned that it was a very different entertainment scene than Chicago. Fortunately, I was quickly cast in Miami’s premier Cabaret “El Tucan” as the Hostess with the most-ess, comedian and singer. For four years, we entertained thousands of patrons and collaborated with the likes of Albita, Cucu Diamantes, and the Tropicana.

For the past three years, I’ve been writing a musical with NEA member Dr. Bruce Carter called Miami the Musical. That focuses on the many colorful personalities that cover this great city. While all this is happening, I was balancing a few other facets of my being. I began my journey in the “Spirits industry” over a decade ago. Between 2005-2009 I became an RYT yoga teacher, INN Holistic health coach and Meditation practitioner. Having studied under William Hayiashi, I co-founded Columbia Light circles, an organization focused on helping students exiting college and young adults during a quarter-life crisis. Currently, I am a meditation faculty member with MODERNOM and teach weekly classes on meditation and mindfulness techniques.. Some of my clients include Pernod Ricard, Bacardi, Columbia College, Boston Healthworks, and many more.

In addition to being in the “Spirits” industry, I have had a 12-year career in the other “Spirits” industry. Out of college, I joined Southern Wine and spirits, moving quickly to Bacardi, and for the past seven years, I have had the privilege of launching Absolut Elyx, the luxury expression of Absolut. I focus on redefining luxury as unpretentious and playful with this amazing vodka. I love bringing people together and curating an environment of celebration and comradery. So to sum things up. I am a brand manager for Absolut Elyx, A professional actress and host, a yoga teacher and meditation aficionado.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My dad always says, ” They never said it would be easy; they did say it would be interesting.” Its been quite the ride arriving to the present moment. Ultimately that’s the greatest lesson I’ve learned. To continuously be present in all that I do. In all the facets of my being and career, it calls for attention to the moment at hand. Ego is always trying to move us away from that awareness.

With performing, it’s been difficult to realize that the industry is much different here than in the Midwest. There are less projects going on and you have to make your own moments. This had turned into a wonderful challenge to create content and be your own producer. During lockdown, my musical partner Bruce and I performed over 100 virtual shows free tot he public. Including a Disney princess week where we sang to children. I have an amazing husband who is my rock and always keeps me feeling confident in all my areas of Business. I think finding a life partner that you can be interdependent with is one of the greatest gifts.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m is known for my open-hearted approach in all areas of business and life. Whether I’m performing, pitching an event with Elyx, or teaching meditation I’m doing so with the utmost honesty and genuine love for what I do.
