Ta’Veca, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Romance on The Go was established in 2012 after several years of me planning and executing numerous romantic rendezvous for my husband, family, and friends. The defining moment that allowed for Romance On The Go to be born was in October 2010, when my bridesmaids and close friends surprised me on my wedding night.
My bridesmaids and close friends sneaked off and decorated The Collins Honeymoon Suite with candles and rose petals throughout the suite. A Honeymoon Survival Kit and other Newly Wed “Love Items” were placed throughout the suite. My husband and I were so surprised! We initially thought that the hotel had set up the suite until I saw a message written with lipstick on the mirror that was personal and unique to us.
Throughout my honeymoon, I kept thinking about how surprised I was and how I finally got to experience what all my family and friends had experienced when they walked into their homes or hotel rooms that I designed. I felt that everyone should be afforded the chance to feel that experience and that I hands down would’ve paid someone to do this.
So, I started to research if businesses existed that provided room designs and more. I knew that this could be a business! I spent the next few years building and branding Romance On The Go into the successful business it is TODAY! I’m a self-proclaimed romantic, I truly enjoy working with “Romantics” to create priceless memories.
I care about EVERY “Romantic” and enjoy getting to know the couple and being able to execute “The Planner’s” vision. I anxiously look forward to calls or text messages the day after about the surprise to hear all about how surprised they were to enter a Romance On The Go decorated room.
Aside from being a Romance Concierge, I’m a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern that has been practicing marriage and family therapy for nearly ten years. I have combined my experience as a clinician and romance concierge to create services and packages that promotes intimacy, rekindle romance, create priceless memories, and sustain a healthy relationship.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, starting a business has its fair share of challenges. Nonetheless, I have enjoyed the journey. My biggest challenge thus far has been getting potential “Romantics” (clients) to see the value in our services and products. Often times, people want to utilize our services but feel that our prices are expensive and have often made the comment that they could get a family or friend to do what we have the expertise and professionalism to do.
We have struggled with our prices throughout the years, but believe that we have finally reached a point where we can have a reasonable profit margin and potential clients now see that you can’t place a price on an experiential gift. ROTGO is a full-service romance concierge business, and people have no idea exactly what we do, so I spend a significant period of time explaining our services and gaining our client’s trust. What has been a smooth road for us has been developing a preferred vendor network.
Once we have partnered and vetted our vendors, the partnership itself has done the work seamlessly. We are grateful for our vendors and feel that our partnerships with our exclusive vendors has been the key to allow us to grow and create services and packages that our clients find beneficial and cost-effective.

How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
I’ve been told that I was always that kid that asked: “Why.” I was curious and had a desire to learn any and everything! I still have that desire to learn as an adult to this day! My parents and parental village always tell me that I was a caring and helpful kid.
As a teen, I constantly volunteered in various community service projects and sites and was always helping those in need. I guess I was destined to be a social worker from the beginning! I played sports, mainly basketball and softball. I was really good in basketball until I had a knee injury that changed everything!
I have a touch of OCD (Ok, it may meet the criteria for an OCD Diagnosis) that has been present since my childhood days and is even more present now. My OCD is my superpower! I use it to run my business and to execute my services.
I am a Gemini and if you know anything about Geminis (not the negative split personality that we often get a bad rep about) is that we are creative! I’m an artist! I’m creative and can just about create any and everything with crafts or art.
I’ve used my creativity in my business. I’m always implementing a DIY project or item into the business as a prop or a “Thank You Gift” to my “Romantics.”
