Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzie Cornell and Wendy Zipes Hunter.
We both started in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and NYC working in different facets of the industry – Suzie started at UTA, large talent agency and Wendy started as an NBC page. From that point on, we both had a variety of jobs including both of us working at DreamWorks SKG in NYC, with Wendy being one of the founding members of the NY office. We both worked in their national publicity department, with Wendy’s focus on magazines and Suzie’s on broadcast. We then eventually branched out to other jobs and recently re-connected in S. Florida and opened Prana PR, a full-service public relations and talent booking agency.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We both owned our own agencies prior to creating Prana, so becoming partners has led us to a collaboration where we rely on each other to run our new business. We both find that having a partner has given us more confidence and expanded our knowledge into different industries. We also really enjoy having each other to brainstorm with and having a fresh set of eyes and ears to look at each other’s work. Our experiences have given us the knowledge to help each other with different aspects of maintaining our clients and finding new ones. With Suzie coming from LA and Wendy being in the area for many years (via NY), our contact lists have grown, which allows us to make more successful connections for our clients.
Please tell us about Prana PR.
Prana PR is a full-service public relations and talent booking company. We pride ourselves on building our client’s brands through our strong connections. Our services include media relations, events, conferences, brand partnerships, talent booking and social media.
What sets up apart from others is our personal touch and our ability to positively problem solve. We take the time to listen to our clients and work closely with them to align their goals and expectations to net desired results. We also provide our clients with detailed reporting and feedback so that we can continually up our strategy game to make sure they are getting full visibility in the media. Our clients want to be seen and we make sure that happens!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, as we are a fairly new company, we don’t see anything (yet) we could have done differently. So far, we have met our goals and feel confident in our future. We can only hope that our success continues!
