Meet Stephanie Stanford of For The Health Of It – Mind, Body, Soul, Fun in Pompano Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Stanford.

Stephanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in business and I’m a two-time published author, speaker and coach. I have been featured as an expert on more than 60 live and online radio shows and coached women across the US and Caribbean and Europe. I’m also a step-mom, wife and a soca lovin’, dog freak who loves her some carnival! I believe life is truly for living and people don’t seem to know how to do that anymore. That’s what I teach people to do…truly live life!

It all started when I was a baby. Just kidding. That would take entirely too long. The short story is this. I’m an achiever. A pusher. A bit of type-A, wrapped up in a body that loves meditation, yoga, running and all things peaceful. Beaches included.

I’ve always been seen as the one who had it all together on the outside, but nothing could be further from the truth. I dropped out of college and didn’t return for 5 years. Married (and divorced) a drug addict. Quit a cushy corporate job to start my own biz and big fat failed. And I have secretly thought more negative thoughts about myself than people would ever know.

Thankfully, in 2008 after developing cancer, I learned how to feel great on the inside, shift old beliefs about myself, get connected to SPIRIT and honey-GUUURRRL, START LIVING!

That’s me. In a snapshot. That’s me. Speaker. Author. Coach. Fun chick. On a mission to help the world start living!!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Does anyone have a smooth road? Not people trying to help other people.

My struggles….hmm.
1. Feeling pressure to be perfect
2. Never being black enough, or Caribbean enough or just ENOUGH for anyone
3. Self judgement and negative self-talk
4. Crazy crazy relationships
5. Healthy mind, body, soul
6. Overcoming that mindset about failure!!
7. Feeling sexy & letting the REAL ME OUT

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have been speaking, teaching, coaching, writing books and inspiring since 2013.

I specialize in helping people to START LIVING LIFE. I love to help people develop regular habits to heal their minds, bodies and souls. Everything I do has a spiritual twist, because God, Spirit, The Universe is my everything. And FUN, yes fun, is what distinguishes me from the pack.

I will incorporate soca music, dancing, writing crazy stories about yourself and absolutely helping you shift your mindset and actions by utilizing fun. It’s my secret tool for pushing people in a new direction. Connecting spirit to that mind, body, soul healing. That’s easier to do when your energy is high.

I’m most proud of…??? Being me in business. I am spiritual and curse-y. I am me and so I allow my clients to be who they really were meant to be, also. That and also being featured as an expert on more than 60 stations live and online.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
My business is primarily online, virtual, via social media, zoom and other methods. I think ANY city is a great place for business if you’re willing to try to use new techniques. I’m not naturally tech savvy, but I’m always trying to learn. With YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and other tools, any city is a great place for business.

The Miami/Fort Lauderdale community is bursting with people of diverse attitudes and mindsets. You can find someone here who needs you, looks like you or connects with you. You just gotta get out there and look.

What can our city do to improve? We need more inexpensive but beautiful meeting places. We as a community need to collab more across communities. Cuban events can be mixed with Trini events, etc. We are one family. Let’s leverage these differences to show how we are all the same. We all love fun. That’s why I work from that foundation.
