Meet Stefan Grant of Noirbnb in Fort Lauderdale and Wynwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefan Grant.

Stefan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a product of tourism and travel. My parents met while working in tourism in Jamaica and I traveled on a plane for the first time at the age of six. My background is in media and marketing, that lead me to creating my own record label, creative agency, and event planning company. That lead to my experience with Airbnb.

I experienced discrimination while using the Airbnb platform and that inspired me to create our own community of Black travelers and property owners to ensure we’d never have to go through that again.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has most certainly not been a smooth road. From co-founders stealing money and shady team members to developmental struggles, it has been a roller coaster, but we’ve made it through everything.

Please tell us about Noirbnb.
Noirbnb is a travel community that makes it safer and easier for Black travelers to enjoy their trips, whether it be for leisure, business, or events.

We specialize in community building.

We’re most proud of the global community we’ve built and the incredible people we’ve been able to partner with.

We’re unique because we’re the first company of our kind to truly create and curate travel for the Black traveler.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is visiting Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica with my father.
