Meet Shaun Powell of Quality Clean: Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaun Powell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shaun. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from the Washington DC Metropolitan area. I have an extensive background in Sales, marketing and company branding. I’ve worked with Starts ups like Therapearl which was named by Forbes Magazine as Americas Top 100 fastest growing Companies in 2015, with a staff of just 10. As well as AArrow Advertising which is the number one form of Guerrilla marketing available to the public. In addition to my experience with assisting start-ups, I also owned a well-renowned entertainment company where I managed top acts, organized large events and released a popular clothing line, Cartel Co., partnering with recording artist Ginuwine.

My experience in startups has led me to magic city. Initially, my main focus when transitioning to Miami in 2016 was to focus on Real estate and opening a nightclub in Midtown but while getting familiar with the market, I noticed that there was a void in the south Florida Cleaning market. Customers were prepared to hire cleaners but could never locate a company that would offer them a seamless experience.

As I punctured the market, I realized that I could offer customers exactly what they were looking for at an affordable rate. From there I was able to create relationships with hundreds of customers within a few months time. We quickly became top 10 cleaning services to use in Miami named by Groupon, now in conjunction with the powerhouse, Living social.

At this point, Quality Clean is expanding rapidly, within a 12 months time frame we were able to open two more markets in New York City and Las Vegas using the same concept.

Has it been a smooth road?
The startup experience for me has had many ups and downs but all are expected. I’ve had issues with just about every area of growth from proper staffing to having a user-friendly website for customers to book a cleaning. Other than that we have been able to move mountains at a fairly consistent rate. With that being said I do expect major struggles in the near future as we continue to expand but we are prepared to weather the storm.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Miami! Miami is a perfect hub for any entrepreneur because of its progressiveness. I can allow count on Miamis expansion and build out. Properties are constantly sprouting up as well as receiving necessary remodeling which in turn continuously keeps our industry afloat. My least favorite part of the city is Traffic.
