Today we’d like to introduce you to Roslie L.
Roslie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
You know that feeling when you see something unusual and you can’t wait to tell your friend about it? When you’re exposed first-hand to historical sites and different cultures, interact with people of all backgrounds and hear just as many different languages, and experience what feels like a million different sensations, it is impossible not to want to share. It is knowledge! It is an education! It is a treasure that only increases in value when you share it with others.
As clichéd as it may sound, that’s why I started my full travel services company, Coastlines to Skylines, and started helping people plan their own enriching travel experiences.
My desires to explore the world beyond North America grew to another level after I took my first trip abroad to France over a decade ago. That incredible experience was the beginning of a whole new world for me. The travel bug bit me hard!
That trip made me even more curious, eager and determined to explore new destinations, learn, see, interact and discover new customs, foods, and traditions. My travels have since taken me to over 80 cities in 32 countries across three continents, as well as deep within my hometown of Miami.
For as long as I can remember, my mother always instilled in my sisters and me the profound value of travel. Growing up in the Caribbean, I heard the many reasons why travel was not attainable: From the usual (it’s not safe) to the language barriers and the all-time go-to (It’s too expensive). I even remember a close family member telling my sister that people “like us” are to play it safe and remain close to home.
Even as a child, I never understood that mentality; I guess partly because I saw the joy traveling bought my mom. But, growing up, never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d one day be in the jungles of Vietnam, roaming through the underground Củ Chi tunnels … In Cambodia, exploring the ancient temples of Angkor Wat … Zip-lining through the Costa Rican rainforest … Winding through the cobblestoned alleyways of Italy and taking in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Coast—a region that’s just stolen my heart. To this day, I’m glad I never let that limiting mentality hinder my appetite for exploring new destinations, and taking on new experiences.
Traveling is about living, learning, discovering and getting lost in the wonder of each destination. No matter the place, it’s hard to go somewhere and not come back with a renewed perspective.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Juggling all aspects of a business is never easy, but as it’s said, nothing worth having ever is. The website, networking, lead generation, promoting the brand, and executing business goals certainly have their challenges.
But I started this journey because I love and believe in the transformative power of travel. When the days are long and I question why I am doing this, I remember that I want to help others realize and embrace the profound benefits of travel. That continues to be my driving force.
It also helps that I have unwavering support from family and friends. The days when I waver, I can always count on someone from my support system to help keep me focused on my goals. In the end, all I can do is trust my instincts, seek guidance when needed, keep a positive attitude, and keep pushing forward.
Please tell us about Coastlines to Skylines—what should we know?

What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
One of the reasons South Florida makes such an ideal location is the sheer number of cultural, historical, food and sport-related events throughout the year. Miami and its surrounding cities are full of adventures just waiting to be found. Boredom is practically unheard of in Miami, which is what inspired me to create the Ultimate Miami Bucket list (https://www.coastlinestoskylines.com/101-things-to-do-in-miami/).
As much as I love exploring different parts of the world, one of my biggest travel take-aways is that I can enjoy the same pleasures I get traveling abroad—diversity, history, culture, scenery—right here in my very own backyard.
What do I dislike about our city? We can all find something to complain about—the crowds in the winter, the heat in the summer—but let’s be real: We live in a tropical paradise, with endless opportunities. If you need a little inspiration, follow Coastlines to Skylines using the contact info below.
