Thanks for sharing your story with us Robert. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started working in the wireless industry when I was 15 years-old. After college, I continued in the industry and founded Social Mobile. Today, we specialize in providing customizable and scalable Android-based smart solutions for enterprise clients, all over the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It certainly hasn’t been the smoothest of roads. The wireless industry is one of the most competitive industries in the world, and to further complicate things it continues to evolve daily. We have had to pause, change the business model, switch strategies, and re-think our initiatives several times to get to where we are today.
We have experienced every struggle that you can imagine in building the business. Currently, the biggest threat is the uncertainty of the current administration’s suggested tariffs and the immediate consequences to our industry.
Uncertainties or issues such as this, are an example of difficulties that can occur whether they’re in your control or not. At the same time, we do our best to ensure we prepare ourselves for any outcome. Pursuing a passion will never be easy, the grind is part of the process.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Social Mobile story. Tell us more about the business.
Social Mobile is a vertically integrated OEM that specializes in providing customizable and scalable Android-based smart solutions for the Enterprise market.
These solutions that utilize the Android-based platform include; smart devices, POS systems, ruggedized tablets, phones, scanners, etc. We are known for designing, developing, and deploying turnkey-solutions that enable our clients to bring products to market quickly and efficiently. Our goal is to specialize in bringing concepts to life, while customizing these concepts to meet enterprise needs.
We are proud to have been able to have successfully deploy over eleven-million smart devices across Europe, the USA, Canada, Africa, and Latin America. This type of scale shows the value that Social Mobile provides clients, and we’re very proud to have achieved it in such a short time.
We’re able to offer our clients a true end-to-end supply chain solution, which is not easy to find in our industry.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m a strong believer that everyone needs a little luck on their side. However, I also believe in putting yourself in the right position to take advantage of that luck. It’s important to work and prepare in a way that allows you to feel as if you’ve done everything right to succeed. And then hopefully if all else fails, the universe rewards your work with a bit of well-earned luck in the end.
