Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Prescott.
Paige, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I had severe asthma. I was constantly in and out of the hospital, and I hated the way that asthma made me feel. Around the age of 13, I started becoming a little more curious about working out, and about fitness as a whole. After joining the cheerleading team, I realized that fitness gave me another option other than the ‘I can’t do that because I have asthma’ route. It was really hard at first, but I kept at it all the way through high school. And before I knew it, I started gaining my life back. I was able to finally climb back into the driver’s seat, and steer my life the direction that I wanted it to go. Asthma was no longer my prison.
Working out has helped me build so much confidence in myself as a person. I became a certified personal trainer because I wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves to feel amazing in the skin that they are in. Everyone deserves to have a positive outlet to release all the stress of the outside world. And while we may not always feel like we have a say as to what happens at work, at the grocery store, at home, etc., we do, however, have 110% say as to what happens at the gym. In that 30 minutes to an hour, we are in full control of our destiny. And that alone breeds power.
I have made it my mission to help as many people as I can gain their power back. I will continue to take as many courses, seminars, webinars, schooling, etc. so that I can be the best trainer and coach possible for my clients. I take pride in knowing that my clients always get the utmost quality in each of the various training options that I offer. I am so extremely grateful to have found my lifelong passion at the age of 24. I just look at it as God’s way of saying that I have a lot of lives to touch.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely not been smooth. One of the toughest things for me to get through was losing my grandma around this time last year, to stage four cancer. I remember talking to her on the phone one week, and the next week finding out that she had passed. That was defiantly one of the hardest times in my life. But knowing that I had clients that were counting on me to push through really helped me a lot. Being able to train my clients every day makes such a difference in my mood. No matter what I’m going through, knowing that they count on me really helps me to be strong.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
BodiedByPaige is my personal training business where I get to wake up every day and help people in person and
online achieve their best health.
I am a certified personal trainer with 3+ years of experience, and who has other certifications in: Trigger Point Therapy, Movement, Motivation, & Program Design, Mindset Performance certification, and Group Instructor certification.
What I’m most proud of, and what sets me apart from others is that fact that I genuinely care about my client’s mental health before I even begin to worry about the aesthetics. I have sat down and talked with a client for an hour and 30 minutes before, while she was in tears because she just wasn’t in a good mental space that day. I have cried with clients, celebrated with clients, gone grocery shopping with clients because they didn’t know how to eat healthy, etc. I pour everything that I have into each and every single client that works with me in person and online. I set them up for success. I help them build a healthy relationship with their bodies, the gym, and with food.
I help them become their own body goals, and I help them gain their life back.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a pretty happy child. Despite my asthma, I tried my best to always find the bright side of everything. I would always help someone any chance I got; whether I knew you or not. I have always been talkative and I made friends with everyone. From a very young age, it was evident that I was meant to be a leader. I never cared to follow what everyone else was doing, and people always seem to gravitate towards me for help.
