Today we’d like to introduce you to Nolan King.
Nolan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My father, a semi-professional baseball player, introduced me to athletics and fitness at a very young age and over 20 years later, I’m still hooked! I moved to Miami in 2011 to begin my studies at Florida International University where I tapped into the personal training market very quickly. Miami has an extremely large population of individuals driven to improve their health and physical fitness. My training style is very unique due to my experience in a wide variety of sports and training styles. I have years of experience with training for football, basketball, track and field, tennis, bodybuilding, and military training as well. This has allowed me to adapt to various types of clients of all age ranges throughout my career as a trainer. In Miami, people tend to have very tight work schedules. I give clients the option for me to travel to a location of their choice, whether it’s a park, condo gym, or home gym, and they always have the option to come train with me at my location in Kendall. Over the past three years, I’ve also expanded my online business due to the rapid growth of social media platforms. I train several clients remotely through my online programs, which I customize to fit the goals and lifestyle of clients who may not be able to train with me 1-on-1.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a trainer, it pretty much comes with the territory that you must be flexible with client’s schedules. Some days I’m up as early as 4:30 a.m. to train my first client and finish training my final client at 11 p.m. A year and a half ago I was blessed with my first child and son. At times, it’s difficult to spend as much time as I’d like to with my son, but I make it work! Having graduated from a military high school, I learned to be extremely efficient with my time and never make excuses to do the things I want to do outside of training my clients.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Nolan King Personal Training – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m able to adapt to almost any type of client’s goals. I’ve worked with clients as young as 10 years old up to clients in their 80s. Presently, I work mostly with individuals interested in building muscle, burning fat, increasing functionality, and improving overall well-being. Many people have this negative connotation with the gym, which shouldn’t be the case. I believe it’s my responsibility to give my client’s the best experience possible by providing both fun and effective workouts. My proudest accomplishment are the relationships I’ve built with clients who came to me with very little hope to change and have transformed ten-fold, both mentally and physically during my time working with them.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan is to continue reaching as many individuals to help bring them healthier and happier lives as I can. I also have a YouTube channel (Nolan King) and Instagram (King.Nolan) where I post fitness and nutrition related content.
