Meet Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba of Plan Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba.

Nicole and Arianna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I, Nicole, started 12 years ago. My family always entertained in Brasil and Punta del Este. My mother and grandmother always set the table and did decorations no matter how simple a meal. I love the pressure and the freedom in conceptualizing ideas and bringing moments to life.

Arianna, studied culinary arts and hospitality and also always loved to entertain. Her attention to detail and perfection hooked her in the events industry where she started after her masters. From Miami to Dubai she has worked with and for the best in the business.

Three years ago, Nicole who has 2 daughters, a 4 and an 8-year-old, decided she needed a partner. We had the opportunity of working together in a project together, Arianna as catering manager for Le Basque and Nicole as the event planner and designer. It was a mega event that took 5 days of production and set up and could not have had more details. We are a match made in heaven. Arianna ultra-organized and loves logistics- Nicole ultra-creative and loves freedom and gives all the logistics to Arianna. So N events merged with Queen of Hearts to create Plan Design.
Love at first sight.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes it has been smooth. Of course, we have had some challenging clients but they make us stronger and better. We do what we do because we truly love it.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the N events, Queen of Hearts, Plan Design story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a full-service event planning, design, floral and production company. A one stop shop. We now have 8 people in the office. 7 of them women. All empowered. All have a voice. We have created an environment where all speak their mind and where we take criticism as a gift that makes us stronger. We have become a family always looking out for each other.

Unlike other companies the entire event is designed and developed in house. We have a full spectrum vision that allows us to concentrate on the smallest detail. No detail is unimportant. I think that is what sets us apart. We are detail driven and oriented. No two events should be the same.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We don’t believe in luck. In this business, there is only working hard, being ambitious and understanding the industry is a family. In events of one relies on luck or expectations of luck the business will not succeed. We are planners we calculate everything and give our best. We don’t leave anything to chance.
