Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Antoinette.
Monique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Monique and I am a mother of two young boys. In the past, I worked as an HR assistant in Pompano Beach, Florida. Always I wouldn’t say I liked the fact of working for other people and always wanting to start my own business. When I was pregnant with my second son, I took courses to start my own business. After giving birth to my son, I decided not to go back to work and take the leap of faith in starting my business. Mink & Bladez officially started in December 2018. I put in my two weeks notice at work and never looked back. I am proud to say that it was one of the best decisions I made. December 2020, will make two years of successfully being in business by the grace of God!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been easy. Just like every other business, you have your ups and downs.
Mink & Bladez – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The name Mink & Bladez came from lashes and micro blading. Mink is for mink lashes and Bladez is from microblading. It was my idea or vision of doing lashes and brows. However, I do more than just that. I am a licensed esthetician who specializes in lashes. I love doing lash extensions! I’m known for doing lashes and doing lash training. I also wax, do brows, facials, and sell my own products. What I am proud of the most is how much my business has grown within two years. What sets me apart from others is my consistency with my strong work ethic and customer service. I serve the people, but I am for the people!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success, for me is defined in different ways. I look at success as working hard, accomplishing long-term and short-term goals. Making moves to get to the top doing whatever it takes to achieve those goals.
