Hi Misha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Our team has quite a story! It all started with a passion to post beautiful and creative images on social media. Throughout the years, we have been collecting and exchanging ideas, our equipment grew in size and quantity, and we got fascinated with producing quality films as well since it’s easier to capture someone’s attention with a moving picture.
Fun Fact – after spending over $100,000 on my education and earning a Bachelor’s, MBA, and half-finishing second Master’s degrees, I became a professional in the field of photography & videography solely by learning the skills through Googling and YouTubing & trial/error. Don’t get me wrong, the knowledge I’ve acquired during my college days paid off greatly when it came to launching the company and managing all sides of the business, but when it comes to the photography and videography craft, it became very natural to me and I fell in love with the community of photographers/videographers. Connecting myself to this industry simply makes me happy/fulfilled and I feel like I am adding value to the community in the best way I can.
From the early days on, it became very clear to myself and the rest of the team that we want to dedicate most of our energy to become the most reliable wedding photographers & videographers in the South Florida area, specifically covering any location from Key West to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Jupiter and more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business is never a smooth road. Ask anyone. But, I can easily say that I would not be able to stick to any other craft except for photography/videography. From managing staff to marketing, accounting & taking care of “difficult” clients, I’ve done it all and wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have witnessed and interacted with so many people who only wish to become professional photographers/videographers but are not ready to accept the consequences that come with this decision, like sleepless nights and stressful situations. Here are a few tips I’d like to share that are applicable to any business/industry you decide to become a part of:
1) There will be good days and bad. If you still feel fulfilled by the end of the day and are happy with yourself, stick to what you are doing, keep growing, and don’t listen to people saying this will always be just a hobby. They are secretly jealous of how happy you are.
2) Cheap clients are the most difficult clients. In the beginning of my career, I’ve had clients who paid me 1/10 of what I charge today and complained about the services my team provided. On the other hand, those clients who pay my team’s full rate never complain, are happy with our services, leave a tip and become our raving fans. It is truly important that my team works with the right people, and because of this, we do not take every wedding and any other creative project that we are approached by.
People deserve the absolute best! That is why it is so is important that we make sure we are the right choice for them.
