Today we’d like to introduce you to Miguel Rodriguez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Miguel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve actually never thought I would ever pick up a camera and be where I am today to be honest. I just decided to do so one day while I was fishing, I wasn’t really having any luck and the sunset over the ocean had caught my eye to the point that I decided to pull out my phone from my pocket and capture that moment. When I looked at that image after the capture, it inspired me. It made me appreciate that moment, sometimes we don’t stop in life and take a second to appreciate the little things.
We forget how fast life can pass us by and the small things become big things in life that eventually turn into a memory’s. After that moment, I decided to buy a camera and start capturing moments that can be either inspiring or moments that can be held dear for a lifetime.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road since I’m self-taught, it took me some time to understand a few key things in photography, and one is lighting and two understanding your camera and the type of settings needed for that money shot. I just stayed patient and curious and with practice and many failed attempts, I was able to grab a grasp of what I was doing and I just kept that rhythm going.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a photographer located in Miami, known for my fitness and lifestyle captures but, was previously known for my cityscape and landscape captures. I’m most proud of the growth I’ve seen for the little time I’ve had being a self-taught photographer only shooting for a little over than two years now. Being able to see the difference of quality of my work pushes me to continue pursuing what I’m passionate about. And being a consumer I understand that quality and great service is important for a business so, I provide my clients a great service by not having them to wait so long for their images. I provide the final touched images to my clients no longer than 48hrs so they can show their friends and family that special moment.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Most Likely be more daring and open-minded. Through these two years, there have been opportunities that I’ve turned down because I was scared and wasn’t confident with my work at the time. Every now and then, I have a sense of regret when I look back at the opportunities that were given and that what if feeling, so ever since then, I take every opportunity given without a second thought.
