Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Vitovich.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Michael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After 22 years in the deathcare industry 17 of which was performing hospital & forensic autopsies, I decided to chase after my dreams of being a professional actor. I continued to work by day with the dead and at night. I would write, act, study and film everything from stage musicals, commercials to feature-length films with big budgets. Over my career performing autopsies, I worked on some very interesting cases that had received worldwide and international attention. I work on the serial murders of Anthony Sowell which were also known as the imperial avenue murders in 2007, the Gerald Levert case and many more. I was at the right place at the right time and I worked with Forensic Pathologist Bennet Omalu who was played by Will Smith in the movie concussion during the early years of CTE diagnosis in Pittsburgh, PA. As a pathologist assistant within Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office, I branched out and created a medical-legal death investigation training program which united the community to help the law enforcement community on a multi-level approach of communicating. I performed lectures about the history of autopsy and dissection techniques from everyone to community to colleges to high school groups. I decided to go into business for myself as a consultant specialist for forensic and hospital autopsies, where I would perform private autopsies, organ recovery and technique and logistics consulting. For a career change I started working with an organ procurement agency for transplant medicine and during a trip to Miami, FL I was recruited to work for the University of Miami Brain Endowment Bank with Dr. Debra Mash. I moved here in 2016 and have been establishing myself within many different areas.
I have been leading a double life for the last 6 years when I started my acting career in the independent film scene in Cleveland, OH. The film tax credits that Cleveland, Ohio received have helped to create and strengthen the film community there which increased the opportunities. I was fortunate to be a part of some very talented groups that produced some amazing work that has received distribution worldwide. I have cut my teeth and done my training on numerous various short films by attacking any and all types of characters that have been offered to me. I have developed and cultivated my personal brand as an extremely versatile character actor. I have played mystical magician as Merlin in The Myth from Legends, a Fanatical preacher in Daniel and Siri, Conceptual being in Nyctophobia, Contract Mercenary in Wake, Doctor of Eugenics in Project E. 1337: Alpha, Polish-german concentration camp survivor in St. Gabriels. Escaped mental patient in Retreat, Corrupt Cop in I deserve better, Ax Murderer in Nightmare Hotel and Last Thanksgiving, Disabled Wheelchair veteran with PTSD in Sangin, Serial Killer from the 1920’s in Shadow of the Run and the last project that I just completed was a locally shot series that was a SAG project called It’s Voice. It is currently being shopped around to distributors. In Its Voice, I play Danny Carlson an out of work animator that after my brother’s death I receive a strange ring that grants me everything that I want but at a price.
I am happy and excited to transition into full time acting with more feature film opportunities locally as well as all across the film market. I am happy to be part of the community of people here in South Flordia
Has it been a smooth road?
In life, there are always challenges and always obstacles, the trick is that you can let falling on your face be thought of not moving forward. You have to get back up and strive to fall on your face again. I have always said don’t be afraid of failure be afraid of not learning from your failures. There are too many challenges to really note. I started out a dyslexic kid that struggled with school until I learned that I have to attack any problem, any issue with my voracious want to know and understand things. This started as an obstacle but has become a strength of mine. I had cancer, which only slowed me down but did not end me. I always love to quote culture in moments like this and I know of at the point in my life that I have passed the philosophy of Nietzche ” That what doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger” and I have adopted the Game of Thrones “What is dead, may never die”. I don’t focus on the challenges or the obstacles I focus on where am I going and How am I going to get there.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Michael Vitovich/TwoRavensConsulting story. Tell us more about the business.
