Melissa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
MMMAC55 CLOTHING “It’s Not Just a Name, It’s a Brand” was created by published Author and Poet Melissa “Mel Mo Mac” Mackey in 2017. Tapping into my creative side, I decided to brand myself and pay homage to my mother who was born in the year of 1955. Merging the two; my passion for the arts and the person nearest and dearest to my heart M55 was born. M55 caters to men, women, and children of all shapes and sizes. Love is the key component of each design. The handcrafted designs derive from the creative mind and talents of working my vision. We offer a various styles of clothing apparel and accessories.
We are built on Family, Love, and Commitment.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road hasn’t been easy but consistency is making it a little smoother. Some of the struggles along the way have been learning the business as an entrepreneur, finding resources and platforms for my product, and the biggest struggle has been not giving up on my vision.

I am most proud of M55 being relevant in this world of unknowns. As we grow, it is my goal for my company to become a household name worldwide. The thing that sets me apart from others is the fact that I am accessible.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would do all that I’ve done. The only thing I would probably do differently is believe in myself and my vision more.
