Meet Melissa Azabache

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Azabache.

Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story begins as a new agent in 2016. I immediately found my brokerage, Exit Realty Mizner, located in Boca Raton, and knew it was the brokerage I was looking for. I have had my license hung there since. As a new agent, I mostly did rentals involving university students and it was a lot of work! Twelve signatures instead of two on all the paperwork and four times the work involved. Landlords are apprehensive about renting to students here in Boca Raton. That was a challenge as well, but it was decent money for a new agent and I was happy. It taught me so much about Real Estate and how to conduct myself in my business. That year I also got my first home buyer. Imagine my excitement! This proved to be a very difficult transaction and it also set me up with the knowledge and experience that has carried me thru my career since.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have been fortunate in my career. I climbed the ladder to number 5 of the top 5 agents in my brokerage in my first year and continued climbing up in the top 5 for the next three years. I received awards at the Annual International Exit Realty Banquet and was a top 50 Exit agent for the State of Florida. Real Estate is a chaotic business, the market fluctuates and so it takes a lot of consistent work on prospects. I think people underestimate the expertise, work, time, and dedication good Realtors put into their business.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
As a Realtor, I personally work in many facets of the Real Estate world. I am currently training in Commercial Real Estate after a few commercial opportunities came my way. I have a lot of experience in listing homes for sale, listing homes for rent, home buying, and rentals. I also property manage some rental units for out-of-the-country landlords. As a professional photographer, I am able to make beautiful listings myself, which is very helpful.

I have reached the point in my career that I am experienced, confident, and knowledgable enough in what I do to do training courses for new Realtors. I have a six-week training course that will take the new agent from setting up their website and creating their business card all the way to knowing how to properly service buyers, sellers, landlords, and renters.

I would say the thing that sets me apart from others and what I am known for is my personal touch and attention to detail. I am a friendly person by nature and I enjoy interacting with my clients. I am available and respond quickly and warmly with as much information as possible for them to make their process easier to navigate. I am rated five stars out of five in my reviews and my former clients become my friends by the end of the deal.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband supports me in my career and is the one that suggested I give Real Estate a chance. I am very thankful to him for believing in me and encouraging me to try it out. He is my rock and my biggest fan. Everyone in my office is very supportive from the investors that own Exit Realty Mizner down to the person at the front desk. I love my brokerage company. My Broker has helped me so much along the way with guidance and a listening ear, I know he is there when I need help with work and he has never seemed annoyed or bothered by all of us Agents contacting him at all hours day and night with questions about real estate. The Office Manager has always been a big support to me starting the day I walked in as a new agent to interview the brokerage, he was the first person I met in the company, and I know he is also just a phone call away. The other agents in the office are wonderful and are willing to help if they have more knowledge or expertise in an area and it helps make our office one big family.

My children, parents, and siblings also cheer me on and encourage me in my career. They celebrate my wins with me and comfort me in my losses. I am very blessed to have a strong support group in my immediate and extended family. I have to give credit to Heavenly Father as well. I have felt many blessings along the way that could only be possible thru him.
