Meet Madeleine Corliss of The Energy Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeleine Corliss.

Hi Madeleine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 24, I got a cold the just wouldn’t go away. I had gone to multiple doctors and nothing was helping. Finally, I had the passing thought that if it wasn’t my immune system, it was something in my energetic field. I had no idea what that meant at the time but I could sense that something was off. I already had a solo trip to Paris planned (my first solo trip!) and while I was there a close friend of mine from NYC suggested I see an Energy Healer she knew who just happened to live just outside Paris. I did one session with this healer and everything started to click into place. The only way I can explain it is that it felt like remembering.

I immediately started reading books about healing, taking workshops, and working with my, now, mentor. At first, it was all about getting myself into a more easeful and personally aligned way of living. Eventually, I had the urge to start helping others as well, however, it didn’t feel like the time yet. When the pandemic hit, I took 2 months to rest and regroup while collecting unemployment. Then friends started reaching out asking for Energetic Healing Sessions. One day after a session I was meditating and all I could hear was “it’s time.” That night I put a post on Instagram offering donation-based healing sessions and almost 3 years later here we are!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The hardest part has been managing my own energy. Getting the business started went incredibly smoothly, I think because there was an obvious need, we were all in a time of needing to reevaluate. But as the business has grown and I’ve worked with more and more clients (at this point I have over 100 clients) learning how to set healthy energetic boundaries, being okay saying no when I really don’t have the time to squeeze in another appointment, and reminding myself that I cannot run a 20-person operation as one person has been a learning curve. I like to think I am a superhero but in reality, we need support, we need to be able to say no, and we need to honor our own energetic limits.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Energy Studio is focused on mental and energetic wellness for entrepreneurs and artists through energetic healing work and coaching. I offer 1:1 Energetic Healing sessions as well as online courses to help entrepreneurs and artists connect with their intuition.

As a very creative person, I was constantly told to do what was marketable. I was constantly following what I thought others wanted until one day I realized I had no idea who I was or what I wanted. One of my business mantras is “TUNE IN.” Learn to listen to what YOU need, what YOU feel drawn to, what lights YOU up. When we follow our inner knowing we become the trendsetters and we change the world around us. To me, that is what makes an incredible entrepreneur or artist. But first, we must learn to trust that inner knowing and clear away the things (energetic or otherwise) that are keeping us stuck where we are.

I am proud to have a brand that merges ancient traditions and modern living. We can be spiritual and energetically aligned AND live in a city and spend half our day on technology. I am proud that my business helps others find a sense of fulfillment and personal authenticity. I have seen this, especially with my Unblock Your Creative Career Course participants and my 1:1 Healing Clients. It’s really incredible to see what people have created, the jobs that they have gotten, and the opportunities they have created for others immediately after the course (and sometimes during)!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a written planner girl through and through! I made my planner available on Etsy (TES Organization) because my clients kept asking for it!

If we’re going spiritual, I love Kyle Grey’s oracle decks. They are beautiful and carry so much clarity and guidance.

And I almost hate to say it but, TikTok. I watch a lot of TikToks to gain ideas about how people are running their businesses. If something resonates with me, I give it a try, if it doesn’t, I continue swiping!
