Meet Lynn Parks of Lynn Parks Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Parks.

Lynn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started shooting in the late 80’s when a friend let me borrow his Minolta SRT 101. I remember thinking, gosh, the film, the processing and the printing of contact sheets is about the cost of a happy hour with my girlfriends.

But I fell in love with shooting. With creating. With documenting moments and finding that 1/125th of a second when someone’s true personality was caught.

Fashion, art and food have also, always been a love of mine. So when the fashion industry chose Miami Beach as its playground in the late 80’s, I found additional inspiration. I remember, one day, watching two different shoots on Ocean Drive. One was with Christy Turlington and the other with Niki Taylor. Mesmerizing. And as the film industry took off in “Miama” (my grandmother’s pronunciation), so too did my photography career. Today, I have clients who allow me to indulge my passion shooting everything from fashion to food to celebrities to art to architecture. And I love every fraction of a second of it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Dyslexic, otherwise extremely smooth 🙂

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a Commercial Photographer in Miami with a studio location in Miami. I am proud of the 15+ years of success and great clients.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very curious. Took my bicycle apart, every screw. Put it back together and painted it lavender with white spots. Collected baby birds, lizards and tadpoles and fed and nurtured them. Always needed and loved nature. The ocean is a must. Talent shows, lemonade stands and tea parties were a must. Sewing new palazzo pants and every new fashion trend in High School was important 🙂

Lastly, testing recipes on my poor Grandmother…she never complained.

I think I was an obedient kid with a wild spirit.

Lynn Parks is an amazing photographer and human being. I have had a business relationship and a personal friendship with Lynn for the past 14 years. She has photographed me as well as my daughter on many occasions. She is truly a professional in her field and her passion for what she does and loves shows in her work. I really can’t say enough about her and could go on and on. Lynn Parks has an eye and a unique style of her own. Thank you, Lynn, for being who you are and for being a true artist in the field of Photography.
