Meet Lola Chél

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lola Chél.

Lola, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As far as modeling, I got started in college. While attending Florida International University, I joined a Modeling troop called Eclipse Fashion Society where I learned all the basics when it came to runway modeling and my modeling skills.

From there, I branched out as a freelance model. I set up my own shoots, played around with concepts and worked with various photographers, makeup artist, designer‘s, and brands. After I had built up my portfolio a bit and secured some very nice digitals, I applied to agencies. I got excepted to one, and it began a snowball effect.

Now I’m currently represented by over ten agencies (nonexclusively) throughout Florida and New York. Outside of the agencies, I have also built up my social media presence to create demand for my look. Now I book just as big of clients independently as I have with my agencies. This growth has been so amazing that I had begun to show others how to create their successful personal modeling brands.

Now I am the proud author of an e-book “A stride to the bank: how to make your first $1,000 dollars as a model”, I have my own high-heel line called Modele Heels, and I’m building a virtual modeling class that should be ready to launch this year.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My modeling career has not been smooth. It’s been filled with a lot of no’s, a lot of self-doubts, a lot of rejections, a lot of jobless seasons, a lot of exposure work, the list goes on.

I’ve had opportunities excluded to me simply because I didn’t have the “look“ they were going for. This more often times than not meant that they were not looking for a dark-skinned, natural haired,“ short,“ black model.

Even with these roadblocks, I have been able to succeed. These obstacles have taught me more about myself and what I have to offer than I could’ve ever hoped for.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
What do you do and specialize in?

I am a multi-internationally Published cover model, host, blogger, and serial entrepreneur. As a model, I book clients both independently and with my various agencies with a specialty in beauty and fashion. As a host, I engage everyone both in person and virtually. As a blogger, I help others build successful personal modeling brands. And as a serial entrepreneur, I find new ways to cater to my customers.

What are you known for, etc.?
I am known for my modeling brand especially when it comes to hair and beauty.

What are you most proud of as a brand, organization, service provider or creative?
I’m most proud of my ability to be a working model due to my consistent work and my ability to help others do the same.

What sets you apart from others?
I reach back and use my knowledge to help others like me succeed in this industry.

If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
If I had to start over, but I could keep the knowledge I know now, I would’ve focused more on just modeling I think I would’ve been further than I am now!
