Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Groisman.
Lisa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Camp Lisa was actually a nickname given to me by family and friends who saw me out and about on daily adventures. Planning fun-filled days has been my passion for a long time. I have been doing this since way before I started my company – even helping complete strangers put together activities and plans to create the most memorable trips. I am always up for a bit of adventure, exploring outside the box, and discovering gems everywhere I go – whether they are hidden or not. I love to explore locally and while traveling abroad. Camp Lisa, the business, was born from people calling and asking for suggestions of things to do both. Once people I didn’t even know started contacting me, I knew it was time to turn this into something beyond a passion project or hobby; it was time to become a business. I am all about maximizing your time. Some adventures can be as short as five minutes and others as long as hours or days. In the end, the ultimate goal is to see the beauty the world has to offer and create the most memorable experiences.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, it’s been pretty smooth. My biggest struggle is finding the time to actually work, as I have five kids, ages 13 all the way down to ten months. This is also a blessing in disguise because I am in the know for activities of all ages.
The biggest challenge has been the global pandemic, as it has forced me to cancel all of my planned itineraries. However, I have also taken this challenge. As an opportunity to reach new markets, and explore other avenues of activity planning. Since the pandemic, I have started the Camp Lisa Travels Newsletter filled with interesting activities for fun at home. Also, many different ideas of activities to fill your time. Again, all those children are a bonus. I also have launched Camp in A Box for those moms who want to start the fun without the planning. Each Camp Lisa Box is filled with age-appropriate fun at home.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Camp Lisa Travels – what should we know?
While most travel companies focus on flights and hotels, I focus more on what will you actually do once you get to your destination. I help plan everything from RV trips to upscale romantic getaways to family vacations – you name it, I can customize it for you. I work countless hours on the itinerary, making sure it’s catered specifically to you. Every trip that I plan, I start from scratch. My goal is to design the trip specifically for you, making every single minute count & to have you enjoy every minute along the way.
I also love planning in my own city. I was born and raised in Miami. I love exploring and getting to see as much of this city as I can. My monthly newsletter came from the necessity of the pandemic, but also my love for Miami and all this magic city has to offer.
Since COVID, I have created a “camp in a box” with the same intention – I send you a detailed activity box made specifically for your family with everything you need included to help keep you busy while having a lot of fun.
I am most proud of being able to help create some of a family’s most memorable moments. I love nothing more than hearing from clients months after a trip, reminiscing on how much fun they had and the memories I helped them create.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
While most travel specialists all have great organizational skills, what sets me apart is I don’t just want to plan your trip, I want your trip to be a memorable adventure. I genuinely care about your travel experience. My goal is to plan your adventure from point A to point B and for you to enjoy the journey. While my clients are traveling, I stay actively engaged in their travels, making sure they are having fun, and tweaking any details to ensure the best experience possible.

- I always start with a $75 registration fee. This fee includes a special interview where I interview my clients to get to know them, and make sure that I am providing the most personalized service.
