Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Roberto Mendez.
Dr. Mendez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He attended college at Saint Louis University, where he was part of the Dean’s list and graduated with his BA in Biology within three years. While in Saint Louis, he became an EMT. He then returned to Puerto Rico to continue his Medical Education at Ponce School of Medicine. During his time as a Medical Student, he achieved Honors in Surgery and Radiology. After medical school, he went on to complete a full residency in General Surgery at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, MI. Like in Medical School, Dr. Mendez received awards for his achievements as a resident. Dr. Mendez did not stop there; he then completed another full residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
They are proud to share with Miami that Dr. Mendez has joined the Lexington Plastic Surgeons team. As a successful Plastic Surgeon with over 20 years experience, he prides himself on delivering high quality surgical and non-surgical results to his patients, while always keeping safety and the unique desires of each patient in mind. He is a family man, loving husband with two talented and bright sons. His family expands each time he takes on a new patient because to him his patients are his family! He is fully bi-lingual, English/Spanish, and a proud Latino. He prides himself on his high energy, compassion, and determination to excel at any task he faces.

Dr. Mendez’s favorite surgical procedure is the mommy makeover, which includes an abdominoplasty combined with a breast lift, breast augmentation, or breast reduction. Dr. Mendez enjoys watching mothers become as excited about their appearance as they were prior to giving birth. Dr. Mendez is also an expert in the Transaxillary Breast Augmentation. This amazing procedure allows patients to enhance their look without the nuisance of scars around the breast.
