Today we’d like to introduce you to Keshava Radha Yoga.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Keshava Radha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Our curiosity and need for meaning and spirituality led both of us to inquire into the path of Yoga. We have been studying and teaching since the late 90’s at an Ashram numerous classes workshops and retreats in the style of Classic Hatha Yoga, it’s practices and philosophy.
On the winter of 2012, we opened our own studio, Keshava Radha Yoga in midtown Manhattan.
On 2015 our search of more peaceful environment brought us to Boca Raton and Keshava Radha Yoga was reborn here. Yoga had been for many years our path and teaching at our studio is a way to continue our practice and share it.
Has it been a smooth road?
Yoga introduces the concept of Karma, what it basically means is that life is a schooling process, you eat what you cook. When something doesn’t feel or go right, it is an opportunity to reevaluate the route, to practice our flexibility, creativity and find the path, the decision that feels more aligned. When you take things this way, any obstacle or struggles along the way is just another opening for life to improve.
Since our opening in 2012, our vision was very clear, we want to stay small so we could compromise less in delivering what we believe the practice of Hatha yoga is. We were blessed to make choices that served our practice and authenticity.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
The style we teach is Hatha Yoga, we encourage slow, meditative practice emphasizing breath and awareness while creating physical and emotional balance, as well as strength and flexibility. We include Vinyasa (Flow), Asanas (Posture), and relaxation while using our rich postures and series vocabulary to fit the practice to the practitioners and not the practitioners to the practice. We instruct practitioners to move slowly so they can feel their body better and be more aware to all the sensations it constantly generates so every practitioner is able to find their own individual limits and work from there.
The aim of Hatha Yoga practice is the state of Meditation as stated in one of the Yoga scriptures Hatha Yoga Pradipika. On this path to meditation, the side effects will be strength, flexibility and in general a healthy body, you will experience a much more relaxed mental state after the classes and would have a better capability to deal life’s challenges.
