Meet Kelly Saco of Fox Sports Florida in Ft. Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Saco.

Kelly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
If you told 16 years old me that I was going to grow up to be a sideline reporter on Fox Sports Florida, I would have laughed in your face. The idea of having a career where I would be talking on a camera in front of thousands of people terrified me. That all changed when I accepted a softball scholarship to Syracuse University, a university known for its renowned broadcast journalism school. That is when my mother suggested I give it a shot: “You love sports and you love to talk.” So I did, and the rest is history.

My first television job out of college was as a production assistant with Fox Sports Florida. There, I was able to build my reel and learn from the professionals I worked alongside with. After a year, I auditioned and accepted a role with the Miami Marlins as their in-game host. I held that position for five years while also serving as the in-game host for University of Miami football, basketball and baseball games. I returned to Fox Sports Florida in 2017 as their digital reporter and since then, I have worked my way up to my current position where I host and produce magazine-style shows, as well as report on the sideline for Miami Marlins baseball games.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the biggest challenges in sports are working long hours, holidays, nights and weekends. Learning how to balance work life and social life is important.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Host, Reporter, Producing for Fox Sports Florida. I host and produce magazine-style shows such as “Marlins Clubhouse,” “Marlins Prospect Spotlight” and “Marlins All-Access.” I also work as a sideline reporter during Marlins games. What sets me apart from others is my experience playing Division I college softball and being bilingual. I am most proud about the teamwork at the company I work for and everyone’s passion to put out the best product we can.
