Meet Kavita Channe of Channé Rosé in Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kavita Channe.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kavita. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My boyfriend mostly loves red wines and I love red and white wines. Two summers ago we were traveling through Provence and came across such delicious rosé wine. The whole way of drinking and enjoying wine over there is different.

Whether you are inland near lavender fields and gorgeous countryside… or you’re in the South of France by the coast, rosé makes every moment a bit more beautiful… a bit more savory… a bit more tasty… any time of the day. So when we tried to duplicate those amazing experiences with the rosé back here in the states, there was no comparison. The scenes were gorgeous, but the rosé offered at most places were below average. Thus we went back to France-Provence in search of the best rosé we could find… and Channé Rosé was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Business is rarely a smooth road. In February of this year, we went to Cannes, France to meet with winemakers. We finalized our favorite and our plan was to have our wine in-hand by July, however, we were met with delays including an overseas drought, a hurricane, and other miscellaneous happenings.

I also became pregnant in March so I could not even taste or drink our wine when introducing it to industry insiders. But when life hands you lemons you have to make that lemonade… so we adjusted. Today Channé Rosé is in various high-end restaurants around South Florida and is on a stellar growth path. We are excited!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Channé Rosé, derived from the coast of Provence from the magnificent hidden gem of Hyères outside of St. Tropez, is truly unique. Our grapes are carefully hand-picked and harvested at night when the temperatures are the lowest to ensure the least oxidation and color extraction during the pressing stage. We were extremely picky about the color of our rosé. It had to be something that appealed to both the ladies and gents… and it does! Its color is stunning, sophisticated and luminous.

What were you like growing up?
As a kiddo, I was very imaginative, confident, daring and chatty. One time a teacher of mine spelled my name out of the word: TALKATIVE. Embarrassing, but funny in retrospect.

Looking back, I always felt I could achieve whatever I dreamed I wanted to. I still am that way today. Very willful and entrepreneurial. That has helped me in business and throughout my broadcasting career.

Pricing:

  • It varies with each restaurant. For example, you can get a bottle of Channé Rosé at Lobster Bar Miami for $52 or $13 by the glass.
