Thanks for sharing your story with us Julie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a jewelry designer, a graduate of The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) with degrees in Gemology and Design. I design, manufacture & distribute my own jewelry line. In business since 1989.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My jeweler of 20 years passed away, it has not been easy finding replacements. Also, the financial crisis of 2008 forced me to rethink my business, offer more silver jewelry than ever before and create unique, original & affordable designs… not cheap! nothing I do is cheap! My background is high end, all my pieces are handcrafted with the ultimate care no matter what the price point.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Julie Miro´ Design Group story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in edgy designs, bold, unique. I have a collection of dragons and mystical creatures named “DraKo” which is very popular. I also create one of the kind pieces for my collection “Julie Miro´ One” …to create these i search for unique stones and work my way around them…no two are alike.
