Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Nunez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I studied Economics and have a Master’s Degree in Financial Markets, so I spent many years working for different banks and financial institutions until I started to get involved with the Internet world (at that time, the Internet was very new).
I started working for one of the biggest Internet Portals in Spain, “EresMas”, and this company bought the first Pan Regional Portal in the US Hispanic and Latin American markets called “StarMedia”. I moved from Madrid to Miami to take over starMedia and after 8 years as its COO, after having opened offices in Miami, NY, LA, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile, I decided to start a new adventure.
Vertical3 Media was born in Miami in 2010 and since then we have grown and expanded with offices in Spain and Colombia.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I came to the US, I thought that everything was going to be smooth and easy but that was not the case. The first months were quite complicated from the personal and professional perspective but little by little I adapted to the new life.
Business-wise, there are always challenges when you run your own business, especially when you come from a big well-known company to running your own business but you always have to look forward, work harder and keep your eyes on the future.

Vertical3 Media is a Miami-based digital media marketing company specialized in media planning and buying. We offer a wide array of services in the digital & traditional media fields to meet our clients’ needs and help them reach their goals in the US, Spain, and Latin American markets.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have had quite a few important moments but the biggest one was when I decided to create my own company. This was a life changing decision for me and my family because it happened in the midst of a world economic crisis so the decision was not easy but I had full confidence in my capabilities and time has proven I was right.
