Meet Jorge Alberto Perez of Skytower Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Alberto Perez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jorge. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was younger I modeled for many years (from 15- 22) full time. I did many shoots and other gigs which help develop my eye for great visual aesthetics. In my early 20’s, I was gifted my first Camera a Nikon D3100 and then began my fascination with photography.

As a hobby I began photographing friends and colleagues, soon after I had people asking me to photograph them professionally. I myself have always been a very driven individual and have always kept myself busy with many projects, one very close to my heart is music. As I began creating music in my 20’s I began to see the need locally for artist services which delivered quality work for upcoming artists without breaking their bank account. As I further developed my photography skills and music career I began to dabble into Website creation, Music video productions and other behind the scene videography. At first it was more of a need for myself and again as my work got better, my branding really started to take on its own unique persona with people asking me to work alongside them in all kinds of projects from music videos, behind the scenes video, promotional flyers, clothing lines, etc.

I went to school for music business and production as well as Digital Marketing and after years of working as a freelancer in 2016 I officially opened Skytower Studios. I have been very fortunate in building my business through 100% word of mouth and referrals from clients, showing me time and again the need for the services I provide are not just for Artists, but small businesses who want to run with the big-corporations but may not have the means. We provide these businesses and artists with what they need while working together with them so that they can actually afford these services. It’s extremely gratifying to see small businesses and artist grow professionally and financially thanks to our joined work and consulting help.

Now after a year of being officially opened, we have been traveling all over the world from Alaska, to Vegas to many places in Europe photographing and putting together a collection for our first Fine Art photography Gallery. I dream of being able to share my photos which range from Still life, Scenic views to more Mixed Media Art and have them showcased in homes worldwide. My style really focuses on bold-hyper realistic colors that really capture your eyes. A date has not yet been set for our Gallery debut but we have just returned from Europe with tons of new images to curate for this Gallery and I cannot wait to share them!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
People never really understand just how hard it is to stand on your own two feet as a small business owner. I myself am a one man army. I work usually around the clock to be able to push my business forward. As with most businesses that are self-owned and managed we tend to experience hot moments and colder moments of work. Meaning usually when it rains it pours! We usually get multiple clients from one shot and then a small cold spell that is why it is very important as a new small business owner to ALWAYS plan ahead for the future.

Luckily since the official inception of Skytower Studio in 2016 we have seen a steady growth in our client base and now we only not just have clients in the entertainment industry but in different facets of business such as: Clothing stores, other digital marketing companies, Education and more. Our clients range in their fields which in turn has made us very knowledgeable in different facets of business which helps us deliver even better services to our client list.

Now when it comes to struggles I would say the biggest struggle we have ran into time and again especially here in South Florida is people not willing to pay what it really costs in the creative side. People expect creative projects to be unrealistically cheap or even free, which is baffling to an extent. Due to the fact that there are so many aficionados and other semi-pro people offering the same kind of work but at a much lower grade of quality and pay. New clients sometimes expect to pay what they paid for these people with us. Unfortunately, we don’t live in an economy where free-work will get you far. Therefore, we run into this problem often where we have to fix the mistakes of clients opting to get the work done cheap or free by people who really do not know what they are doing and end up harming their business. That’s when they call us and we go in evaluate the damage and plan accordingly to fix the mistakes, causing the client to spend not only double the money but double the time it would have taken if they would have originally just opted to work with a more established business such as ours. On the brighter side of things, this has actually garnished Skytower Studio with a lot of work since so many people try to cut cost by going with these smaller freelancers and then having us fix their mistakes, so at the end of the day it is a win, win for us.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Skytower Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Skytower Studio first and foremost is a Mixed Media Production company with a strong focus on Digital Marketing. Therefore, our strengths lay in: Photography, Digital Marketing, Video Production and Mixed Media Production.

Skytower Studio is known mostly for our bold photographic style. We have a very “Manga” inspired use of color in our photography.

As a company we have worked with Private Colleges, Latin Artist and small business owns in many campaigns. Some of the work we are most proud of is our current work being commissioned for our first Fine Art photography Gallery. We have been traveling over a year collecting incredible images from Nature to some of humanities more historic relics to use to use in a mixed-medium forum that is sure to awe and captivate a whole new audience for us. As photography being the bearer of most influence in our company we always emphasize in pushing to the limits our creative process to continue to grow as a business not just in our expertise but our ability to stay in touch with today’s market and current trends.

Skytower studio also prides itself greatly on our personable approach with our clients.

When we decide to work with you and your business we are available for your 24’7 from the time the project begins to the very end. We pride ourselves in the smiles and the response from our clients when we over-deliver on what they expect to receive from us. I believe this is why we have been so successful as a referral based business, when people are happy with your work they are happy to spread the word without you having to say anything. So when we receive a referral that comes from a previous client that is when we know that we have done our job to the fullest extent. This is what I believe sets our company apart from others, we really or I should say I really genuinely care about my client’s needs and work very hard to make sure that whatever I do for them whether it be photos, or a video or a digital marketing campaign yields the highest result and represents the company in the correct light. After all image is everything in the world we live in.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As of now Skytower Studio has been an online driven business, in the future we hope to have a physical location where we can offer not just our services but workshops in: Photography, Digital marketing & video production. We want to have a space people can rent out for creative purposes, perhaps one day even have a music studio attached to it.

We want to have a place with art that people will want to visit and be inspired by. Our long term goal is to create a network of light-minded creative individuals who can work together to elevate each other’s work and at the same time gain financial freedom through doing whatever it is that you love doing.
