Meet Jolie Lindholm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolie Lindholm.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
As a singer, my story began when I was very little and knew I loved to sing. I have a very, very early recording of myself singing a Hall and Oates song briefly. It wasn’t until college when I was asked to sing backup for friends that I realized it was something I wanted to actually do. Singing backup with The Vacant Andys, followed by backup for Dashboard Confessional and fronting The Rocking Horse Winner were my early experiences. I then sang for a project called Popvert, followed by backup for several other friends over the years. All of this has led up to the moment when my husband (Jeronimo Gomez – former bassist for The Rocking Horse Winner) and I began writing music together last year, for what ultimately would become The Darling Fire! This band also consists of Steven Kleisath, the drummer for Further Seems Forever and two other close friends who are very talented bass (Gregg Moore) and guitar (Matthew Short) players. We have a lot of irons in the fire and plan to be very busy this year.

Please tell us about your art.
I sing the words I put to paper, over music created by my husband and close friends. I’ve also been able to contribute to the music in some small ways. Both life experience and my observations of the world we live in are my inspiration. Music has always been an emotional thing for me throughout my life, and I’m so fortunate to be able to express myself in this way, alongside friends that are supportive and are on the same path. I’m hoping people will enjoy what we’ve been working hard to create over the past year, both recorded and live.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
I’ve been lucky in that I grew up in a very active scene and made lasting friendships with several talented people. It’s good to connect with other bands on social media, by going to shows and by playing shows, to keep an open line of communication within your scene.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
