Meet Jennifer Rudolph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Rudolph.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I went to school for acting but quickly realized I had a head for business and wanted to merge the two worlds. When I got out of college, I went to work for my mom at her advertising agency. I then got a job at a talent agency where my boss taught me everything I needed to know about work ethic and indoctrinated me into the biz. I LOVED working with our clients but wanted to be even more creative. From there I went to work for the Executive Vice President of Series Television at Mandalay. One of their shows, YOUNG AMERICANS, got picked up and would shoot in Baltimore. I asked my boss if I could help out with casting and he said sure!.

The director hired CD Jeff Mitchell and from there destiny took its course. Jeff and I ended up discovering Michelle Monaghan while casting YOUNG AMERICANS and worked on the entire season together. Mandalay then announced it was closing its doors in NYC and I needed a job. I asked Jeff to hire me and went from being his assistant, to his associate to his partner. We cast together for a few years and while casting I started teaching on camera classes as I seemed to have a knack for helping actors get to where they needed to be and book the job. From there it snowballed into me teaching multiple sold out classes, hiring other CD’s to work with me and a few years later The Actor’s Green Room was born.

Please tell us about your art.
I teach actors how to approach the business-like CEO’s/business owners. By applying SHARK TANK principles to navigating the business, I teach that their art is actually SECONDARY to knowing how to market and sell themselves. You can have the most prolific product in the world but if no one knows about it won’t make an impact or be seen. At AGR, we teach the yin/yang of the business. #sharksneedwater and the water in this case are self-care/holistic classes taught by C.R.E.A.T.E. Co-Founders Natalie Roy and Kristin Hanggi. (thecreateseries.com) AGRtists (as we call them) get to come together in community and support one another and tackle topics such as rejection, what am I doing “wrong”, and many others that may stand in the way of their success.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
The role of artists in the world is more important today than ever. Through art we tell relevant stories and through experiencing them in all sources of media we feel what we need to feel to rise higher in our humanity.
