Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Floyd.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I actually started designing and customizing clothing at a very young age, starting with my barbies and baby dolls. As I got older, I witnessed my grandmother and mother creating and designing clothes, pillows and whatever else they could create. When I finally reached High School, I knew that I had a passion for fashion and I knew I was different and wanted to look different from the other girls so I started making my own unique pieces with a hot glue gun. As I created more, my mother bought me my first sewing machine and it all progressed from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey definitely wasn’t a smooth ride. I’ve had to endure many obstacles, however there was one that affected me the most. Growing up I was a daddy’s girl and I would do anything to make him proud but as I got older and started to recognize my own passion and identity in becoming a Fashion Designer, I noticed that he wasn’t as happy as I wanted him to be. He had other plans for me and I wasn’t for them at all. He told me how he felt about me pursuing fashion and he didn’t think it was a great idea. That crushed me because I had always done what he wanted me to do but the one time that I decided to do something differently and something that I truly loved, he did not support it. His response affected me mentally and emotionally! So for some time I had become stagnant and there was no growth in the area of design because of all of my overwhelming thoughts of how he felt. The hardest decision ever was to release my dad and to move forward in my purpose and that’s exactly what I did! I’m extremely happy I did because God has shown himself mighty in life and in my business. Over time, as my father noticed that I was driven by my craft and it wasn’t just a phase, he began to get on board with my vision and has been more than supportive ever since. To God be the Glory!

Arcani Le Dieu! The luxury brand. Which mean “A Goddess, Destined for Greatness”. I specialize in customs design garments, alterations, tailoring services, personal wardrobe styling and soon, I’ll be offering one on one and group sewing courses. What sets me apart is that my business is founded and driven by faith to help empower and encourage people spiritually from all walks of life. I’m most proud of how many people I have touched spiritually through Christ and have encouraged over the years of being in business.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Waking up every morning and being able to do what God have destined me to do in purpose and knowing that I am in his perfect will gives me peace and pure happiness!
