Meet Jackie B of Super Enthused

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie B.

Jackie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Super Enthused as a blog in 2015, as a way to share trip reports, tips and advice focused mostly on theme parks and Florida destinations. In 2017, I expended the blog into a YouTube channel and started to include more off the beaten path events and locations and travel, which I have been interested in for many years. I wanted to share with people, locals, visitors, and even people who may never be able to visit Florida, but may enjoy what the sunshine state has to offer, all of the unique places and events that are a little more off the beaten path. I am passionate about documenting and sharing the kinds of places I love to visit, like theme parks, renaissance festivals, national park events, comic conventions, etc., to provide both entertaining and useful information.

I’ve traveled around the United States several times over as a performing musician, and though my days as a traveling musician are behind me, I continue to sing for fun and enjoy the musical efforts of others. My experiences as a traveling musician helped to shape my view of the world and reaffirmed my love of travel and adventure.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest challenges of a creative endeavor like a blog is making time to craft thoughtful and well-written blog posts. Making the transition to high quality, entertaining and informative videos is actually much more time consuming, but also much more fun! I absolutely love planning, filming, editing and sharing weekly adventures. I put a lot of thought and care into creating entertaining and informative episodes. Some of the challenges of this include time constraints, budgeting, and being a one-woman show – all planning, research, filming, hosting, narrating, sourcing materials, editing, etc., are done by me. I also manage my social media profiles, which can be fun, but is also time-consuming. I also have a full-time job and life responsibilities, as well as hard times like anyone else to get through. I do it all with passion and out of love!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Based in South Florida, I create & share weekly adventure videos where I visit off-the-beaten-path events & locations, theme parks, conventions, nature parks, historic sites, road trips, festivals, comic conventions, as well as travel beyond the sunshine state. I’m interested in detail-rich, immersive environments and experiences, and the effect of these environments and experiences on the psyche. I believe that fun, play, and immersion enrich our lives and promote well being. My goal is to document & share adventures that entertain and inform! I provide tips, reviews, recommendations, background and insider information, and travel inspiration!

What were you like growing up?
I have always been an optimist and a fun-loving child at heart. I’ve been the one to cheer others up, and take people on adventures! I’ve always loved exploring new places, and enjoy spending my time doing things are unique, special, and even weird! I have long been a fan of animation and music, which culminated in my love of Disney films. As a native Floridian, I have also visited Walt Disney World since I was very young, which sparked my imagination and love of themed environments. As I grew older, I became more interested in the behind the scenes aspects of themed environments, such as the imagineering, art, design, storytelling, and craftsmanship required to create atmospheric, immersive environments. I still love it and love learning about everything that goes on “behind the magic,” not just at Disney parks, but at any special event or location. I love covering this in my blogs and videos!
